    Re: Beko wm5140s board blown

No, but you said, “I’m pretty sure these relate to the drain pump”, which suggests a level of uncertainty 😉 . Anyway, the only pump failure I ever came across causing a triac to blow was one that had jammed solid due to water leaking on to it and causing it to rust to the point of disintegration.

Main motors are a bit of a weakness on Bekos. Wouldn’t let the apparent link to the pump distract you from thoroughly checking everything else. Also any sign of water getting into anywhere it shouldn’t.

Cash and time which none of us have. (Apologies to WTA.) So I guess we just have to learn to live with it. Fortunately, there are plenty of customers out there who can still read. And still more who are not prepared to shell out £135 / £165 full stop! We moan about them but they are our saviours in some ways.

Indeed, just like spam. They spend massively on advertising and then take the relatively few who are fooled for a ride.

Maybe once heater is switched on it begins to leak to earth (enough to confuse the electronics but not enough to blow the trip). Remember 40 megohms. See Lux pdf 599352317 p. 84 & p. 86.

    From FAQ page:
    “Why should I trust you?

We’ve been fixing faults since 1997 and we’ve fixed millions of them. But if you use a non-approved repairer your equipment could easily be written off when the appliance could work for many years longer. Non -approved repairers don’t always have the tools, parts or expertise to repair your appliance.

That’s what really gets my goat. They are playing on customers’ fears of getting ripped off elsewhere, and in the process slandering their opposition. That is DIRTY TRICKS. Nothing less. 👿
I don’t think their strategy will work on educated customers, but the vulnerable .. that’s another story.

Well, I reckon’ he’s trying to get on telly ….. Blue Peter.

To be fair though, the video’s purpose is to sell parts to people who have scarcely any tools, so making them believe they can DIY no problem is what it’s all about. They’ll mostly not be bothered to try sending the parts back or will have opened them, so job done! Then one of us gets called in to put the heap of parts back together :rolls: .
Including the front counterweight :rolls: .

    Re: servis m6852 tripping

Very common for those pcbs with the multi-plug along one side to burn at the plug. You, or rather the sensitive trip, have just got there early with this one! Cut the burnt area of the plug away and replace with individual fully insulated amp tags. That might do the trick. If it doesn’t, you could send the board to EMW for test/repair.

    Re: fridge freezer ptc testing

😕 If you mean powering up the compressor via the suspect relay using a flying lead, then yes. For a Danfoss it’s very simple. Good idea to have a spare good Danfoss relay ready connected to a flying lead for easy testing.
Mind you I gave all that up years ago.

Yeah, I thought that was rather misleading, too. Though the LG I did today was nearly that easy. Which was surprisng because he told me it had been noisy for a month.
Great idea putting the washing machine on the kitchen table to work on it though. I’ll have to ask the customer to do that ready for when I get there next time. 😆

That’s a bit amateur. Obviously doesn’t have access to enough steak knives. 😆

Tactile switch (on/off on fascia board) could be corroded, especially if in damp situation.

Re: Bosch solder-in brushes. WFM3030GB/04 what size please?

Martin, I had a rummage through my box of brushes and came across some which are of those same dimensions, i.e. 8mm x 6.4mm and I cannot believe that is what will be in this Bosch motor when I finally get back to it. The ones I found were for a Black and Decker power tool.
Either you are ‘avin a larf or you are losin’ yer marbles. Now please admit that your response was less than well studied, to put it politely as I can. 🙂
