You didn’t enlighten us with the model number? But looking at the installation manual of one Blomberg from their web site then I have to agree with you…..

Corrosion of the aluminium backplate IS the major issue considering the age of the machine, especially where the foam tub gasket seats. Along with the bearing and seal kit a new foam gasket is vital.

The state of the drum shaft collar also an issue. It needs careful cleaning with super fine emery paper and plenty of high speed grease applied to the relevant area between collar, seal and front bearing.

Tension of the 12 or so backplate bolts secured in numerical order is also something to be noteful of. The numbers on the backlate are there for that very reason.

Any white pitted corrosion, especially adjacent the motor, and the chances of a successful repair are severely in jeopardy. 🙁

I presume you have checked that the diverter valve in the heater box works as normal? That it fills with the correct amount of water and that the circl pump has plenty of pressure? If all check out then yes the PCB could well be the problem, or rather the heater relay is sticking. Might be a good idea to run a soldering iron on the 4 relay pins just in case of a dry joint.

Yes that PCB retails at over £160 so I would be surprised if your customer would stump up the money for that to be replaced TBH.

Yes Jim, it’s a Bosch. The float often sticks as does its microswitch. The black rubber hose is a major source of blockages, and easily cleared. The OP just has to unclip it from the fill matrix and give it a good BLOW!

The water inlet/safety valve also a caution and shouldn’t be overlooked,

Well for sure your next move would be to check out that power board for surface component damage.

Really? Not the 7822W I recall, they were 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} Bosch.

You’ll need to remove the left hand side panel, clean out the float chamber and transfer hose to the tub. Check the operation of the float microswitch and ensure the inlet valve filter is clean just for starters. So yes it’s got to be pulled out.

    Power OFF before fiddling. :zap:

Looking at the schematic it has a ‘3D sensor’ connected to the side of the motor which may has some bearing? What it does I have no clue, sorry. 😕
