ParticipantRe: Hoover Washer/Dryer WS130
The problem is usually due to the Tacho Generator Coil going open circuit 😉 Maybe just that the terminals into the motor terminal block are broken at some point even 💡
Easy job to sort and we may well have an expert to fix it for you by clicking on this link:Repairs@

It could be that the water inlet system (IWMS) has failed in some way? First of all you need to establish whether the antiflood device has tripped due to a flooded base? Tipping the machine backwards about 45 degrees will confirm (have a couple of towels handy to mop up )
Also try turning off the stop-cock, releasing the fill hose, then reconnect and turn water back on 💡
:plug: ALWAYS REMOVE THE PLUG FIRST BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY OF THE ABOVE :zap:

Give Tony a bell at EMW Electronics as he is THE man on these problems 😉

Coco wrote:Do you think premature failure has anything to do with the quality of the appliance?
Not necessarily, use and mis-use are often a factors to consider as well. Leaving the oven door open for prolonged periods with the fan element glowing merrily in the cavity is one. Blocking the general airflow with unnecessary baking trays and roasting dishes. Even seen some folks putting kitchen foil on the wire shelves……. ❓
Neff and other German manufacturers were often guilty of fitting elements rated at 200 to 220 volts also. And the voltage standard in the UK being 230 volts meant the element exceeded its wattage rating when higher voltages were applied, causing early failure. 🙁
The replacement element ( available from Shop@) however has no such worries and may even be of a better quality standard anyway than that of the genuine manufacturers replacement 😉

There’s a good chance the oversudsing created a flooded baseplate? There is a flood protection device on that baseplate and it may well be swimming in water right now 💡

From my remote location it is difficult to assess. If you carry out the usual checks i.e Fuse intact? Reset programmer? Clean Filters etc. And if that does not solve the problem I recommend calling out a local independent company to take a look.
PCB’s aren’t expensive either 😉

Dave_Conway is a Qualtex Main Dealer and most likely he could advise you on your local supplier. And Wash Vac are in all sorts of trouble over the Parts Center takeover making many of their reps without aim or purpose to say the least 😕

Most likely you will need a new ‘Door Handle Kit’ and possibly a new ‘Timer Knob’. The parts are still available although I would recommend getting a local engineer to fit them as it’s really not a DIY type job.

Here’s one for you to think on….
Do manufacturers have the legal right to withold technical information that would otherwise prevent a “suitably qualified person” from repairing one of their products sold on the open market?????????????
One can purchase a motor vehicle and be allowed full access to technical manuals and up-dated publications from the manufacturers. Similarly, purchase a computer system and one can get full manufacturers technical back-up.
Those amongst us lucky enough to afford a Sunseeker Power Boat will also realise the enjoyment of full technical back-up Sunseeker afford their customers.
Try buying a new Gas Boiler?….All the info is readily available to anyone that wants it (wiring diagrams, test sequences etc etc).
So….
POLL
“Would you like more technical information on the product you have just purchased?“Is the ‘User Instructions’ informative enough?”
“Do you think a wiring diagrams and error code definitions should be more freely available for ‘suitably qualified persons’ to take advantage of in order to remedy faults…?”
“Do you regard ‘Manufacturers and their agents only’ service too restricting?”
“Do you hate calling these ‘Service-Help lines’ where you are put on hold and when eventually you do get through, no-one can help other than suggest they ‘send and engineer out’?”
Considering the abject disregard manufacturers in this business have for us at the ‘pond life’ end of the trade. I dream of having the bottle to take these bar stewards to court over their ‘restrictive practices’ hampering our every move. Hate Italians especially, love Chinese food but soon they will be flogging us washing machines over here as well, big time…That will be the end, even for pond life, when that day comes mark my words 🙁Martin
ParticipantRe: Bosch WFL 2000 Washing m/c
Very likely the drain hose from the pump to the drain outlet is restricted in some way (kinked or limescaled build-up inside usually). Also check pump filter to see if impellor is clear and free to rotate (I know you said the pump works but often the pump is the likely cause 8) )
Do make note if any of the red panel lights flash at the end of the cycle? Often that gives a clue as to what ‘error’ has occurred 😉
