A blocked drain filter will cause your machine to not drain the hot water in the first place and therefore cause the programme to stick prior to the rinses starting, yes !

Why use fabric conditioner at all? For the most part it is just formulated perfume that does naff all to most fabrics, some even increase their flamability!
AND….
Liquid detergents are the reason your colours fade so quickly, your knicker elastic loses its ‘twang’, your door gasket goes brown, dispenser goes black and the machine stinks every time you open the door!
So there :lesson:

Clearly a thermostat fault I reckon, two stats fitted on this model, both need changing or at least their plug-in connections inspecting?

Spot on
Bottle brush, old toothbrush or even a thin piece of wire poked up the holes will clear the limescale/bacteria blockage. 😉
(Tip:…. using the soap dispenser with conventional detergent granules in the wash will help clear the black/brown build-up of bacteria – cheaper too per washload than tablets)

Now you have cleaned the dispenser drawer, give the dispenser chamber a good clean, paying great attention to blocked spray nozzles 😀

Fluff blockage in condenser ducting forcing the NTC at the bottom to shut prog down!
Strip and clean condenser  Replace triple valve too as the condenser coil can break circuit intermittently 😉

ParticipantRe: HG Service Engineer?
I reckon UKW should negotiate a bulk purchase of this amazing product for exclusive resale via our Subscribers only network.
As Alexa has discovered, this amazing product will sell itself. Especially if you get some ‘nonce’ walk into your shop and lean on the counter asking about his problematical Indesit W161. He points out he does’nt want to book a service call with you, but simply wants advice?
Perfect scenario, (Ronnie Barker – ‘Open all hours’ would love this opportunity) no need to waste too much time either trying to analyse his washing machine problem, just flop a box of HG Service Engineer on the counter and advise he simply pour half of it in the drum then switch on!….Instant cure for only £5.99 and saves a £50 call-out fee to boot!!!!!!
If you do not possess Ronnie Barkers sales technique, don’t worry as the product ‘sells itself’ , the claims on the packet are substantiated by ‘men in white coats’ after all. :rotfl:
To ‘clinch’ the deal, simply add that since this product came on the market, all your engineers are without work and play darts and sup tea all day long in the workshop out back :rotl:

To be honest I really don’t know what it could be? That’s assuming you haven’t dismantled the fan from the stator – as it could then be a vital internal part of the motor for sure!)
They do not usually suffer from fluff blockages in the fan housing. Only motors I have changed on these have been because they have either shorted windings or simply gone open circuit, don’t think I have changed any capacitors either 😕
Fluff builds up in the condenser ducting just above the corrugated rubber hose at the bottom though, so will need a good clear out as well. Check and reset the heater stat and take a gander at the NTC on the front heater duct 😉

Best go along with an open mind on this one Laurence, I would 😕
Stick to hearing the facts direct from your customer on site, then make a few “tut, tut, oh dear what have we here?” type expressions, (gets ’em cautious to what comes next)….then look at the pump. :rotfl:
Most likely something is open circuit as they abort, dial clicks round and the blower fan comes on, you’ve read about it hundreds of times I know.
“Poke an’ hope or leave it broke!” ….is what we say in the trade 😉

ParticipantRe: candy alise 105 changing bearings
……..once the Dispenser is sealed off as explained in my last post. The hot dry air enters the drum at the front, forcing hot moist air from the clothes and down towards the rear condenser inlet.
Meanwhile a cooling trickle of cold water passes through the condenser matrix, enters the drum and is immediately pumped away. Allowing the hot moist air to enter the larger ducting section of the condenser matrix and as it rises through the chamber, cools rapidly and dries as it enters the fan chamber and through the heating elements….. the process continues on a timed basis…….!
The hose at the back of the Candy Alise series drum is called a “Steam Drain Hose” and unlike the ‘closed’ system other manufacturers adopt as the norm, allows excess steam to escape the confines of the smaller, less efficient drum cavity.

ParticipantRe: ariston awd12s margherita 2000
It relates to a Heater or Thermistor fault but could also be associated with a fault in the water level control (Pressure switch system?)…and finally…could also be a faulty Heater relay on the main circuit board? 🙁
Lots to figure out huh?

But to add to Alex’s comments : – Best Albums (ever!) : E.L.O “Out of the blue” Beatles “Abbey Road” Pink Floyd “The Wall” and U2’s The Joshua Tree”
oooh!…nearly forgot, the compilation disc of various artists…. “Chilled Ibiza!”…brilliant!!!

Graham,
All you need is to fit a new Pump Shaft Seal (Part No: 051840) costing around £12 to £15 ‘ish. Available by emailing your request to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk
Just carefully clean the shaft and lubricate the bearings with 3 in 1 oil, stick on the new shaft seal (the impellor just prises off and taps back on again by the way 😉 )…and you’ll be all set 😀
