“Special Brew?” Good heavens no, that would cloud my memory, play hell with my judgement. And may you never find yourself in a total shambles. 😀

What of the latch on the dispenser door, does that operate correctly if you were to simulate the wax motor’s action?

The thing is 1totalshambles that the world moves forward. Technology changes and the science of washing garments just gets better. Likewise the ways we can reduce energy usage is incorporated within that same technology. And, you may not realise, but the failure rate of these modern appliances has also increased. So perhaps you might like to enter into the 21st century thinking. Your past has long passed by, the world moves on.

By the way, your ‘style’ of posting makes me suspect you may have posted before under another alias, just a suspicion on my part that is 😉

No such error code as far as I can figure. BUT if you email me (remind me of this thread when you do) and I can furnish you with a little light reading. 😉

Pull the other one……7yrs?………we’re talking Hotpoint here and no way will any of them do more than 4 without those belts and bearings going. As for even a belt/bearing repair being “cost effective” that too is very unlikely, well certainly not down here in the Home Counties at an average 50 quid call out it ain’t. 🙁

What’s the average life cycle of a Hotpoint dryer, 4 yrs tops? The vast majority will have been on landfill, fly tips or crushed long ago. So those ‘millions out there’ are whittled down to more manageable numbers anyway.

    Re: Siemens Fault

The base of the dishwasher is flooded and the anti flood switch has activated the drain pump to prevent flooding. You’ll need to remove the plinth and side panels and see what’s causing the leak.

But first you’ll need to unplug it from the power and carefully – slowly tip it backwards to drain off the water in the base tray. ( Have towels handy, and do not tip it frontwards or sideways under any circumstances).

    Have fun!

Yes, by removing them from the motor.

Replace it without bothering to test it. They are notorious for blowing the main circuit board when they fail so you’d best check the main circuit board too while you’re at it!
