    Re: BSH appliance care employment

They have an ongoing search for engineers as many such companies do these days. It’s the usual trouble though every time and rumours of an unhappy workforce to boot 😉

    Oh I love it :stir:

I will let you know if DB gets back to me as he said he would both on the phone and with the later email he sent.

I wonder then if he has read the trade pages here on UKW by getting an account to access such 🙄

    Huddy,

A more reasonable ‘going rate’ for the job would be a labour charge of around £56 to £60. These beasts are tricky to access and service, so a fair rate for for an experienced engineer to sort it. If the maximum labour charge is £72 then that’s not too unreasonable as it could take an hour or so to remove, dismantle, reassemble refit and test!

Sounds like either the drain pump OR the main circulating pump have got blocked, so a tricky job sorting it but worth the expense.

Definitely not a DIY fix I’m would venture to suggest either

    Nic,

The pump will need closer inspection, sounds like a button or coin the offending item causing the noises 😉

:plug: PULL THE PLUG FIRST THOUGH :zap:

Sure it could well be Tony!

And it’s easy to drop the module out and check for that tell-tale PCB burning 😉 Don’t forget the easy check to see if the module is terminal though before mending the burn (well documented by me and others on the subject of course)

Also check the Pressure switch/Meter Tank unit 🙂

    Nick,

According to the wiring diagram for this model, for the door switch there are only 3 wires to it (Orange, Blue & Pink) 😕

Orange to the Main Module, Blue to the Pressure Switch and Pink to the Rotary Selector Switch. :con:

I suspect whatever or however your switch is wired that the Main Module has taken a turn for the worst though 🙁

You must have all read that tripe from David Brock by now . (if not pm me). It is a clear and as sure as the sun rises every morning we need to step in and upset the applecart before too many get stuffed by these guys!

    But how?

    rpw,

Could be any number of things here I’m afraid, especially if you haven’t rewired the timer correctly. Only one wrong wire on the wrong terminal and all that 😕

What do you mean about the “wire on the preliminary coil?”

Now that’s a point, that indeed most if not all manufacturers state in the user instruction booklets supplied with every machine, to turn off the water (and power) after each use! Thereby issuing a ‘hidden disclaimer’ against any such eventualities such as in this case 🙁
