ParticipantRe: Obsolete AEG Microwave door
John,
Exactly where is your door cracked? As far as I can gather, parts are available as the doors individual components can be replaced. Rather than a ‘complete door’.

ParticipantRe: Zanussi FJS1397W No Motor action
Seamy,
Only thought I can give is to look at the Manifold and Pressure Switch system for crud blockages. That can cause symptoms like this and also of course check out the heater 😉
Seems like your motor is OK from what you say, and if the timer PCB looks undamaged, you need to look elsewhere as I have hinted 😉
Best of luck!

Participantkwatt wrote:Well there you go, sorted out a bit better using a link and the good old “ALT” tag!
Now there’s a thing 💡
Last Saturday when Kevin asked us if there was “any other points?” before closing the meeting I did have a thought, but kept it to myself as being too minor to warrant discussion 🙄
Anyway, being as I now have seen what you have done with the “DATA” logo (i.e Flagged mouse pointer note) Would it be possible using the same technique to ‘flag’ all the items in the ‘Navigation Bar’ ????
Whilst many are self explanitory, others like ‘Directories’ would be better if they would explain the content ‘before’ opening using this method???(i.e. Directories = List of agents and contacts. Reviews = Latest reports on appliances.)
Just another thought maybe 😯

ParticipantRe: UK Whitegoods Meeting No.3
To be serious for a moment, I wish to congratulate you Ken and naturally Dave, Kevin and of course Del. For the well organised meetings, their content and the professionalism you guys have adopted in getting these meetings together in their entirety.
Also for the speed in which you published the minutes in detail (in various formats) onto the site, is quite amazing….WELL DONE GUYS 🙂
And a message addressed to those unfortunate enough not to be able to attend the last meeting….check out the minutes please, they will tell you a lot about what is going on and indeed an insite into what the future has in store 😉

Very true and very welcome indeed, 🙂 I still wonder though why that forum was selected rather than the Trade only forums 😕

ParticipantRe: Data
If “DATA” is a “Trade Spares Supplier” then why are they sponsoring via PUBLIC GENERAL ENQUIRIES and not a TRADE FORUM???
What’s going on? Have we been hacked again??Martin

ParticipantRe: Ariston AWD 12 – smelly!
David Parker wrote:Anyway, as to the smell, I would be interested to know if anyone else has come across this. It’s definately not misuse – it’s done it from new.
David,
Not in my experience 🙁 I would suggest it a fault that needs to be checked out, meanwhile consider not using the dryer at least…just in case 😉

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WDM130 Washer/Dryer Leaking
Paul,
First and foremost I believe you refer to a HOOVER and not a HOTPOINT 😕
On a HOOVER WDM130 the Condensor water inlet nozzle is indeed prone to hard water limescale blockages. The result of which, being very dramatic in blowing up the feed hose from the valve 🙁
Historically they do need regular servicing (i.e. Clearing the fine inlet nozzle aperture and defluffing the whole Condensor Ducting). The feed hose will need replacing and I recommend installing jubilee clips to retain the hoses at both ends.
Consider installing a water softener to eliminate this problem completely, otherwise regular servicing the watch word 😉

ParticipantRe: UK Whitegoods Meeting 4 – Feb 05
Just checked out The Millers Hotel at Sibson regarding maximum conference room capacity = 75

ParticipantRe: UK Whitegoods Meeting 4 – Feb 05
IMHO I believe Sibson serves us well as an ‘all in one’ package/venue. Stafford was fine and if we are to get a further increase in numbers attending, may well again be an optional venue. (Not sure the maximum conference capacity is at Sibson?)
For the next meeting we could have a ‘live Webcam’ UKW link direct from the meeting to the Web site, so everyone could see what a great job those ‘on the top table’ do with the meeting. (Kwatt in his best suit 😉 )
Also the pub grub and breakfast at Sibson was better by far I reckon 🙂

ParticipantRe: Time out 4 Christmas
I agree with all your sentiments regarding Christmas shut-down. It makes good sense to do just that for MOST of us at least.
Sadly, as with most Christmas’s, I cannot afford to do shut down entirely and will still be slaving away keeping the wheels on industry turning between Christmas and New Year 🙁
….besides, whilst you are suffering overeating and hangovers, I’m out there earning good money to pay my huge Tax bill on 31/1/05 😀

ParticipantRe: Merloni
A ‘Regional Manager’ (can’t remember his name right now) phoned me this afternoon to set up a meeting with me.
😈 Next Monday (Sept 20th) 😈
He did say though that they are desperate for engineers to work in the Thames Valley area at the moment. ‘Cos 2 have recently ‘retired’ and another has lost his Corgi licence 😕
Roll on next week 😆

Dave_Conway wrote:Comment away……….
My recent enquiries regarding ‘Public Liability Insurance’ has uncovered an interesting fact: –
It is generally likely that your current policy will fully cover you for repairs to “Domestic Appliances within commercial premises” and NOT the other way about 🙁 In other words, you are likely covered for fixing a Zanussi Tumble Dryer in a pub/office/warehouse/office block etc, but not a commercial Zanussi machine at any location 🙁
Check your policy before taking on the work 😉

ParticipantRe: Wheres Martin !
At last I have a chance to answer you all, and I especially address the sceptics amongst TWR who, shall we say at the very least, doubted my sincerity 🙂
Ken, Dave and Kevin all agreed to invite me as part of this group purely and simply because they realised I was, and always have been, a dedicated part of UKW and for all the right reasons.
OK I did upset many of you guys with my many crap ramblings on various subjects, I am the first to admit it. 😳 BUT my intention was purely to try to inject a sustaining interest for those that visit the site to check in more often and perhaps contribute. 💡
The past issues over “Martin Quits” and Martin Comes Back” was all a regrettable situation to which I for one, totally and unreasonably, over reacted to. I did post my reasons and apologies, accept them or not, I don’t give a toss right now, it is past and buried now as far as I, Ken, Dave and Kevin are concerned.
Like it or lump it, its your choice!!
I for one at least hope we all can get along? As you can probably guess, I am, at least, very broad minded to easily accept all the ‘flack’ from you all. I think you would agree that most ‘normal’ people would take great exception to being called what you stated in the previous posts. But ‘hey’ I’m not ‘normal’………I’m Martin!!!
Just one request before I conclude my diatribal scribings………….Please say what you like about me just as you did before, I have no problem with that, fair enough…….but do realise……..I am for UKW and not against it……..and that after all is why we are all here…eh?
🙂 Keep smilin’ 🙂
