Easy solution to this problem Mark 😉

Simply drill a small hole in the back of the knob and insert a self tap screw to lock the two together!

The timer knob locked in this way will last forever, besides it is impossible to force it anti-clockwise anyway!!! 😆

Yeah! Simply fit a ‘self-tapping screw’ into the push button will marry up against the on/off switch and BINGO!

My cooker hood has a door, well kind of, it looks like a cupboard door that lifts up 😆 So technically you were right Dave, If Laurence looks behind the door somewhere eh he should be getting close 😆

No donation required my pleasure. 🙂 Perhaps I could just ask you to pray the rain goes away so I can visit the Edinburgh Festival on 20/21st without an umbrella 💡

    Laurence,

The Siematic Cooker Hood will almost certainly be a rebadged Neff/Siemens.

Parts a fairly universal in the range, whats gone wrong?

    Cloviscat,

2 things you need to do then,

Firstly, turn off the water supply, remove the inlet hose (either from the machine end or the stop-cock end) then immediately reconnect it and turn the water back on!

Finally, carefully pull the machine forward and lean it backwards by about 50 degrees, in case the base of the machine has become flooded due to the overfill problem you had. (Have a couple of towels handy on the floor to soak up the water!)

Please do ensure during both these tasks to switch off the machine AND un-plug it from the supply 😉

Let me know how you get on 🙂

Re: Indesit WE16 Washing machine – CPU resets

    Xaq,

This could simply be a connection fault between the Display Module and the main Programme Module (situated at the rear R/H/Side of machine).

However usually it would come up with an ‘error code’ if that was truly the case. I suspect an internal component failure within one of them, which one? …. Usually Indesit would change both!!

    “£50 call out charge?”…Indesit(Merloni) normally charge £80 😕

    Cloviscat,

Can you please supply the full model number please? It should have a 3 letter prefix 😉

Meanwhile, you will need to thoroughly clean out the sump of dishwasher under the filter to ensure the pump is not blocked as well.

    Re: Hoover aaa160-01 problem..

To my knowledge an error code “E9” is a much more serious problem concerning the Motor and Circuit Board rather than the Pump being at fault 😕

Does the error you have read E9 or what exactly I wonder?

A pump error message would be E3, so your information direct from Hoover was (possibly) a bit off track 🙁

    Daniel,

Any number would be helpful at this stage. Is it a ‘built-in’ oven or ‘free standing’ ? Single door or Double door?

Usually the model number is located on the door frame surround or in the case of free standing, inside the warming drawer?

    AMS,

    Power interruption I reckon 😉

Possibly the door lever not holding the microswitch/interlock? 13amp plug connection dodgy?…..something like that most likely.

The drain pump is either blocked or jammed!

Syphon off the water from the sump and check the lowest part leading to the pump. You should see 3 plastic slats that leads directly to the pump. If those slats are blocked, that’s your problem 😉

Other than that, set the machine to the very start of any programme and switch on, you should hear the drain pump working, if not the pump is jammed and needs dismantling.

Do not attempt repairs without first ensuring the appliance is completely disconnected from the mains supply!

    Tony,

No doubt in saying the duff element is the problem and can and does affect the whole programme.

Change it and it should be sorted 😉 Check the state of the drum bearings though as it may have clobbered the element to caused the fault in the first place 💡

Guest wrote:I contacted Hotpoint who told me that it was realy cold fill but may use enough hot water to rinse out the soap tray on the wash part of the cycle

What a lot of rubbish, and from Hotpoint too 😕

On a 95 degree cycle, the moment you press the ‘Start’ button, the machine will ‘pump’ for 5 seconds, (to clear the sump ball valve actually) It will then fill with ‘Cold’ water for approximately 15 seconds, THEN it should fill with HOT and continue until it has reached its preset water level (determined by the wash load you have selected)…The only exception to that being that if the incoming hot water IS TOO HOT, then it will fill with cold, until the temperature sensor has cooled down at least (*)

I recommend calling out one of their ‘engineers’ to check it out at least 😉

(*) I suspect a faulty thermistor sensor (IMHO)

Please advise us of the outcome…thanks 🙂
