Re: New van diesel or petrol

Any petrol powered van to suit your requirements AND budget. 1,000’s of S/H very very low mileage choices everywhere. 65 plated, any colour you like as long as it’s white. 😉

Re: Which is worse in your opinion, overloading or underload

Having waded through your web site I can fully understand your questions. Clearly you are unfamiliar with the modern washing machine especially with regard to overloading.

The subject is covered in detail using the link below, enjoy the read 😀

Are you sure about that element? When RCD’s (MCB’s) trip big time often as not the element is the cause and it often burns out the switch contacts on the oven selector switch as well. Time for a closer look and test with an insulation tester (megger)

Water from where that BSH felt responsible enough to replace it? Are we talking design fault here that BSH are quietly swapping out?

We ‘unsung heroes’ one and all believe each customer potentially insane and work backwards from there. More often as not the vast majority really do have an appliance problem and no need for a referral to a local shrink. 😉

Without the fan turning immediately the element switches on it will glow red and eventually, and very quickly burn out!

Fit a new fan motor and you might just save the day.

The flex you need is H05VV-FG, available in all local DIY shops and places like Screwfix etc (though the latter only sell in reels of flex whereas local stores cut to length) 😀

    Re: Beko oven electrical connection

Your oven should not be connected to a 13 amp socket. It needs a dedicated supply and a 16amp MCB. Have you got a cooker point if so what is its rating at the consumer unit?

Thank you. Why do you think I should take the extended warranty?

For 5 years peace of mind just in case. You pay good money with high hopes so adding that all important peace of mind for a nominal cost, it’s got to be good. Besides, even with the extra insurance fee it’s still cheaper than Currys. Win win I’d say 🙂

    Re: NEFF oven recommendation

Neff ovens are excellent. CircoTherm is Neff’s name for what is essentially a fan assisted oven, unique to Neff 30+ years ago but since copied by virtually all oven manufacturers since. It’s a double, Self-clean oven basically. The John Lewis price is unbeatable and I would advise taking their 5 yr extended warranty option too.

Re: Electrolux electric oven not working

Overheat stat should be closed, thermal cut out open. So your investigations so far are spot on and on track. What I think may be the problem(s) are: 1) The timer contacts themselves have failed and whilst it appears to be on manual there is no switched power out.(new Timer) or: 2) The Selector switch has burnt contacts and that may need replacing.

It’s either one or the other IMHO 🙂
