ParticipantI can’t rememebr exactly which model but i have had problems with the switch selector on these ovens ‘sparking’ when switched on or off. It may be worth checking the selctor switch for any signs of scorching or burning…especially on the underneath.
i think the spark/contact break is enough to upset a sensitive 30Ma RCDnomadPaul
ParticipantDoes the rear wall of the fridge sort of ‘ pop ‘ when you push it in . like it’s flexing ?
To be honest , if it is , then the rear wall insulation has more than likely gone….and this is why the fridge might not be cooling as effeciently.
If this is the case , then its most likely irrepairable unfortunately .

ParticipantThe top area that you’re pointing out , if blocked , won’t stop the machine from pumping out. It may cause the machine to syphon back in though , should your dishwasher be ‘plumbed’ in to your domestic waste. Can you hear the pump running when you reset the machine ? If you canm , i’d be checking the drain hose connection first. If you can’t hear the pump operating after reset , i’d be accessing the pump impellor , bottom of inside water sump and looking for an obstruction there.

Have you completely cleaned the actual drawer ? Its important to ‘flip’ up the central section , clean out both pipes and when refitted , ensure that the top -bigger- pipe goes over the smaller pipe. Also ensure that the small channel at the rear centre of the drawer is clean.

ParticipantWhen these machines are in a drying cycle , they don’t actually make any noise . It could be that the wash motor running empty is what you can hear running . What happens if you ‘re-set’ the machine ?
nomadPaul
ParticipantBeek , when you come down to it , is it still running and is there any water in it ? It sounds like it may not be heating due to lack of water and this is why the cycles not progressing . If its running with plenty of water in it , is the water hot ?

roly16 wrote:I have an excellent one which is ideal for carrying into customers’ houses and which I believe originally came from a manufacturer. I can bring it to the Sept meeting and if there’s sufficient interest we could investigate the feasibility of getting it made up. From memory [I’m away on hol at the moment] it adjusts from about 2ft to 5ft 6in using a threaded shaft and a removable extension piece.

This sounds like the ones we’re supplied with . A base unit approx 18inches high that looks like the base of an office chair. Into this you can fit a rotating turntable which can screw ‘upwards’ about 2 feet or for higher ovens , you slip in a 2 foot extension section first.
Has the advantage of being fully adjustable from any height between 2 foot around 5.5 foot – invaluable.P.s also handy for those times you have to slide off a stacked tumble dryer from above a washing machine

Mike , have you checked the base for water and the small pressure chamber on the left hand side for a stuck float/microswitch ?

ParticipantA tip i was given , once the screw behind the fan blade has been removed , is to replace it with a ‘flat-headed’ screw as sometimes , after replacement , the fan blade can catch on the original round headed screw. I think this is caused by a slight bending of the motor fan shaft , usually when extra force has been required to remove the fan blade itslef

When the matrix finally filled and the water cascaded over into the tub, almost at once it appeared as though the drain pump kicked in then for a minute or so the fill valve and drain pump were firing on and off in rapid succession. 😕
Jim.
If you get a chance to look at the pressure chamber , take a look at he small red barrel-like float on the RHS . The float is there so that if the machine overfills , this float will lift and switch on the pump. However , if the pressure chamber or hose bewteen it and the tub sump are blocked , the incoming water will ‘back-up’ , causing this little chamber to fill and lift the red float. You’ll know when this is the case because as it fills you hear a ‘Klerdunk klerdunk’ noise .
This also gives the classic ‘1’ in the display and never ending cycle problem because on the rinse cycle , it pumps enough water to drop the level down to a point where it will stop the heater from coming on.

ParticipantBuild of gunge in pressure chamber and ribbed hose between pressure chamber and tub can lead to low water levels on rinse cycles – low water level = no heating = extended wash time . These models start their initial time for the new cycle from the completed cycle time of the previous wash. i.e If the previous cycle went on washing for over 3 1/2 hours because of no heating then the next cycle selected would start at 199mins. This would also happen if you’d actually reapired a fault on the heating side. You would need to run a full cycle to get the timer countdown back on course after such a fault.

ParticipantIf you find the module ‘blown’ and there is a grinding noise from the water point motor , it could very well be the little motor seizing up , blowing the control module component. Sometimes its neccesary to change module AND Instaneous water heater .

ParticipantYour appliance is still under warranty . Give BSH a call and they should send someone out to help . I’ve done loads of these recently and it seems like they’ve been put on too tight in the factory. TBH , 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time its a 2 minute job.
If you’re still trying , make sure you take the door off as this gives better access and if you’re right handed , try undoing it left handed as you get much better leverage .
Personally , i use a plastic hammer and wide bladed screwdriver to give the glass a ‘helping’ hand in the right direction to help with loosening it up although i wouldn’t advise you to use this method yourself 😀

About 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} less work 😆

Thanks for the assistance queeg and Penguin45.
Steve , i wouldn’t worry about the trouble with getting the fan off . You’ll find that even us more experienced engineers have struggled with its removal at times 😉
