    Hi

I would think tha £85 is a little on the high side, what’s your postcode i’m sure an engineer on here will be able to assist.

The Door seal is not an overl complicated task but the dreaded Spring used to fix the seal to the drum has prooved to be a pain in the butt for many a person, including some engineers.

Stick your postcode in the repairs@ section and you’ll find an engineer that will be more than happy to assist.

If your in any of the CT postcode areas, you might even get me to sort it out or you.

Re: Creda T622CW heater is always on

    Hi

The relay you refer to is the start/run relay, this will have no bearing on the heater.

It is most likely to be the timer that has failed, you will be able to get one from here, click the shop@ link to the left and look in the shop.

If it’s not there then give Dave Conway a shout and he will be able to supply the part for you at a sensible price.

Remember to disconnect from the mains before removing any cover, lid or pannel.

    Re: I GIVE UP!!!!!!!!

    Oh the gerneral public,

Well my case goes to court in 2 weeks and I get to find out my fate, for not fitting a module on a saturday morning at a call I first looked at on the friday PM and had to order the module.

She demanded nearly £300 in damages because I did not repair her machine quickly enough for her (called in another firm within 3 days, 2 of which were a weekend), and is pursuing it through the small claims court.

More info can be found in the legal section about it all.

Nothing suprises me any more, to the point i’ve removed my Yellow Pages ad and am sticking to what ever I get from here and the regular customers such as OAP homes and the college.

As much as those rouge traders type TV shows highlight the more sinister actions of some traders, and the trading standards being so quick to advise (often in the wrong circumstanses), the general public are starting to believe that every trader is a bad trader, and do goody family members that have seen the TV shows are wrongly advising our customers and making them think that they are being ripped off.

My run in with Mrs Miles was the point I lost all faith in this industry as an independent, and I am now seriouly looking at another source of income.

I have no idea what will happen in court, she has made false accusations and quoted Trading standards as demanding my actions, which I have written evidence they did not, from trading standards.

If the court rules against me I will be packing it all in, and if the go in my favour I will be seriously be considering what area of the trade I will be sticking to.

Re: MFI / Diplomat / Smeg Dishwasher PCB ADP8132

    Oh Great,

It looked like possibly a dry joint had caused it, but your probably right, I tend not to bother with Diplomat stuff if i can avoid it as every one I have been to has been a PCB so when they phone up saying it’s doing nothing but drain and I’m getting a burning smell from the door, I just tell them it’s most likely going to be the PCB and going to be in excess of £120 to be repaired.

Usually scares them off but this is for a tight fisted landlord who didn’t know what the problem was or the make so I drove 25 miles for my first job of the week (yes it’s friday) and it turned out to be a nothing job.

God I hate school holidays 🙁

Re: A New Trend In Ripping Off Repairers

    Now that’s just great.

I get more and more dis heartend every day with one thing or another and work (or lack of it) just makes me wonder why on earth I bother.

When I think of all the bods sitting on the dole, claiming their £400 per week plus rent paid with their 4 kids 2 dogs and half a cat (the dog got hungry) it gets my back up.

And then the big firms are making it harder and harder for us to get work and we are reliant on the little old lady who has used us for years and then her all knowing son comes along and convinces her to take out one of these so called insurance policys and that’s then another one gone.

I know this is not quite on the same line as Ken was on, but my blood is starting to boil now.

Re: The connections game! (Which tier are you on?)

I had a chat with a Connections rep today about prices etc.. and Guess WHAT ????

I had no discounts applied to my account, he said it was because my account had been allocated to the wrong area and I had no rep but said he would sort it out today and the discounts would be applied today too.

If you were in similar prices to me as shown above, then it might be worth you having a little moan, you might get a bit of a better deal.

    Hi
A quick search on Yahoo came up with this company, I can’t recommend them or vouch for them either, but they are in London and rent fridges for 2.75 per week.

    Anything-Direct

    Hope it helps
