ParticipantRe: Zanussi TC 481-W Condensing Tumble Dryer – Broken!
A common problem with these machine was the collapse of the rear drum bearing assembly, causing it to drop, in turn causing wierd noises and eventually the drum jamming or drive belt breaking.
Rear bearing 1250134-11/9, drum rear shaft 1230232-03/8. You will need to change both. Drop a line to spares@ukwhitegoods.com for price and availability.
Do nothing without pulling the plug first.

ParticipantRe: Fisher Paykel Washer Mainboard Fault
Hi Pwhit,
No, unfortunately the manuals just give the bare facts. The limited experience I have with these machines suggests that water can weep from the shaft seal into the motor windings (big bang, everything blew, obvious damage to control board) and several like yours – no obvious external damage, so some sort of component failure on the board itself. Triac failure (the part that actually regulates speed control to the motor) is a separate fault code, so the implication is a logic fault to the processor itself.Regards,

ParticipantRe: HOOVER TCE 660 – FILTER CARE LIGHT STAYS ON BUT NO HEAT
James,
If your back panel has only one thermostat on it, the fault is almost certainly the microtemp on the heater itself. This is the little sausage on the heater plate itself. Replacement is impractical – the correct repair is to replace the heater – p/no 04820073 – about £43 from memory. Contact spares@ukwhitegoods.com for prices/availabilty.BTW, the usual reason that these fail is opening the door after an hour “To see how they’re doing”……… Have a word with the Laundry Captain 😆

Tel,
Doesn’t get away from Clives point – a new component should be guaranteeed for one year, unless it is a consummable item (Vacuum cleaner belts, filters and the like).May I suggest that you check in Directories or Repairs@ for a repairer in your area? We sign up to a Charter and are regulated, so you won’t get the same problems from one of our members.

ParticipantWhat our laid back Yorkshire friend specifically said was that he didn’t trust the War Room – I hope he meant from a security point of view.
All in favour of beer though……

OK, anyone want to add Arch to the list? Posted on Martin’s British Gas thread in the Public Forums. This one is blatant and it’s public and it’s rolling on the XML.
