    Re: Disturbing News.

I have warned the lads about the effects of getting sloshed on Coca-Cola (it affects us differently) and then leaving it lying about for the world to see….. Do they listen?

Anyway, the troops based on the six “missing” sites have been withdrawn to Headquarters for special training – it won’t be long now………….

Dead thread – I feel sure that after 2 years, they will have sorted out the door handle.

Re: Baumatic single oven – electronic clock not displaying

If it still functions without the display, the timer unit will need replacing. You’ll be fine until it gets turned off at the wall, then it needs the clock resetting before it will work again.

Replacement timer is p/no PRG30002. As a repairer, I would ask you to get it from Baumatic and contact me when (if ever) it turns up for replacement.

Forum Rules – read and understand.

Now – get out your test meter and follow the instructions:

Two terminals will give you a resistance reading in kOhms, two will give a reading of virtually zero ohms. The two skinny wires go to the high resistance circuit (a thermistor), the two thick wires go to the other two (an inline cut-out).

There’s a funny thing – another drain company commenting on washing machines…..

    Re: Help with Hotpoint WF560

Just do the basics first – check the filter in the bottom hose, then the drain pump for obstructions. Then plug it in and see the pump runs.

If it doesn’t, it gets more complicated.

    Re: baumatic bdw14

It doesn’t work properly because it’s a cheap and nasty Chinese dishwasher. Yours will have a dodgy circulation pump and probably a sticking variator valve as well (comes with the circulation pump).

Don’t waste your money on it – move on.

Re: Hotpoint 71350 not supplying water

This is actually an old Bosch appliance and all the better for it. There are a couple of possibilities with the problem.

1/ Easy (!). Pull the plug and tip the machine back. In the rear right hand corner, there is a hose which runs around in a circle for several turns. It has a bad habit of sludging up – remove it and flush out. 8/10 this will solve the problem.

2/ Inlet valve failure. Basic check involves a test meter and looking for a resistance reading of 3-5kohms. No longer available from Hotpoint, but Bosch still supply – not cheap though.

3/ Broken wiring in the pivot area of the door – remove door outer panel to check for breaks.

Stay safe – power off at all times.

    Re: Getting inside Hotpoint DWF32

Remove baskets, filters and bottom rotor. Bail out as much water as you can. There is a single Torx screw in the floor of the sump, at about the 11o’clock position. Remove it, then pull the tab sticking up towards you to remove the drain pump cover.
