Re: Diplomat ADP 8102 – Never stops

It doesn’t take hot water. The timer stops and turns the heater on. The thermostat will complete a circuit when the water reaches temperature and re-start the timer. Therefore, your machine is probably not heating the water.

Possibilities are heater failure, broken wire at the pivot point in the door, safety stat tripped out, or timer not switching the heater on.
Power off if you intend to deal with this yourself.

When it starts beeping, open the door and count the pattern of the flashing start lamp – ie – 1-2-3-4-pause-repeat. This is an error code, which we can interpret.

There appear to be at least three different spring/hinge/brake set-ups for this machine. I can only suggest that you drag it out, remove the side panels and post up a piccie for us to have a look at. One of what’s broken and one of the intact other side would be particularly helpful.

Ensure that surfaces are spotlessly clean and grease free. Apply glue and weight the surfaces together. Encycopedia Brittanica is particularly useful for this. Wait 24 hours and re-assemble.

Just get the board from EMW, Mike. You’re wasting your and the customers time otherwise.

    No.

Calgon has a specific use in hard water areas. Bicarb is an old wives tale, regurgitated by The “How Clean Is Your House” people.

Remove left hand side panel – you’ll find THIS. There is a small pcb attached to it. The contacts on the connector oxidise over time and give a bad connection. A good clean up may do the trick. It’s also possible that the reed switch has failed, in which case you’ll need to buy the unit as above.
