power to fan does not mean that the fan motor is working….

“”I have checked the fan out which is a runner”””… have you physically seen it work ?

Before checking out anything else you need to assertain fully that the fan works. Fan motors failures are common on these.

They are not the only problem areas however but the easiest to rule out.

Also full serial number/model number, there are two versions of this if I remember correctly.

I’ve got the details but all in hard copy, far too long to type out.

If no one can give you an electronic version I will scan it and send it too you but it won’t be until this evening.

It’s a little easier because you’ve got a display but even if you have not done it before just read through the intructions a coople of times and you’ll cope…

There’s bound to be a Service Force guy with an electronic version..

You’re right, keep the 16 digit code from the old pcb. Stick it/write it on the new one or on the inside of the lid…

Cheques are due to disappear from UK by 31 Oct 18 if all goes to plan.

    http://www.constructaquote.com/79/secti … ar-by-2018

You have this many days to sort it out……

    http://www.timeanddate.com/counters/cus … &sec=&p0=0

In reality you need to ready well before this as no doubt, certain banks will stop issuing cheques books well in advance of this date. Cheques really are starting to disappear…the schools that our kids attend have recently stopped taking cheques and only use parentpay scheme or similar.

Don’t know what is going to work as a lot of remote villages around here have very poor or no network coverage… difficult to see what the alternative options could be…

Saying that I had a Bank of England Cheque the other day, the guy used to be a BOE official…and no his cheque did not bounce….

Reminds me of a Beko WM a few years back. I went back on a recall after a very junior young engineer had been out and fitted a new sump hose/pressure pipe. Place was flooded….

Correct part and fitted correctly ok, however, there was a blockage on the pressure pipe side. Manufacturing fault, just completely blocked and was never going to activate the p/s. Eng had fitted it quickly, checked for water tightness and off to next job…

That one cost a few pennies….

PS Twas not me before you ask…

    See refrigeration section Q’s 3,5 & 6.

Don’t they contradict each other a bit or am I misreading it.

I could live with no screws to secure the top, I could almost live with no earth on the motor (broken internal wire not visible but still obviously bad enough for me to notice it as soon as I took the lid off) but this…

Don’t worry, I’ve got to a job on Thur – Fault fridge/freezer defrosts during the winter months – tried my best to explain the probable fault… Customer still insists that I come out and check the appliance and explain it to her again…. :rolls: OK, I ask Make= Frididair, Model =can’t find it. Is it a frost free model or do you have to defrost it manually…(.wait for it ) No there’s no frost in it because it defrosted in the last cold spell… Ok, do the instructions say you have to defrost it regularly???, answer, I don’t know because it’s always fails every winter and it defrosts itself…. Ok poor lady probably doesn’t know what a frost free is but she wasn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer.
