Hi John,
This model should show a fault code if the programme aborts, this is normally signified by flashing leds. If you can post the fault on here I should be able to help you or I can send you info in e-mail if you need it.September 7, 2007 at 1:07 pm in reply to: Whirlpool AWM 6100/3 not emptying or going to spin #226897Seamy

Already thought of this & checked it thanks for reply.
A few points though, when I blew into pressure switch, there was only one click, is this correct?
Also customer has contacted me & said that machine will work in Rapid Wash setting. Which i find strange..Seamy
ParticipantRe: Hotpoint CTD00 blown stat
I’ve come across a similar problem several times with these machines, mostly caused by excess build up of fluff on front felt bearing. Drum can hardly turn.
I do believe that the filters don’t really do a great job & a lot of stuff gets past & into machine.Seamy

* Have you checked the Known Error Thread?Seamy
ParticipantRe: Miele wt946 inlet/filter light flashing
Are you sure its inlet “filter” fault?? (It should be Water Inlet / Drain)
Don’t be fooled into spending money on parts that you probably don’t need.
These machines have a timed fill & if a certain level of water is not reached in a time it shows fault. This can because of a blocked inlet filter, a kinked hose etc..* You can extend the fill time in programming mode if theres a problem with it filling too slow.
PS:- the reason there are two solenoids in series is that if one stays open with grit dirt etc, then theres a secondary valve to stop the water.

Machine could (should) go for another 15 years, check microfilter on hose at both ends..

ParticipantRe: miele tumble dryer
Remove 4 screws around door
Remove top LHS facia by prizing it down with small screwdriver to reveal 2 hidden screws, small panel removes revealing more screws, remove screws.
Loosen torx screw on RHS of this small panel and move screw down to release catch.
On botton LHS release spring catch to release front panel which should hinge open.Hope this helps..
PM me with e-mail address if you need any other info.

Remove the facia panel at front, insert a small screwdriver and push downwards. This will reveal screws behind. 💡

Don’t know about area coverage question sorry.August 17, 2007 at 9:37 am in reply to: Question about my own smelly Miele (10 Year warranty one) #224907Seamy
ParticipantRe: QUESTION ABOUT MY OWN SMELLY MIELE(10 YEAR WARRANTY ONE)
I am a Sub Contracted Miele Engineer, as with ALL machines a smell can be caused by many things (there could be a blockage).
The system used Miele to save detergent (used in other makes too) is a float (ball) in the sump hose- this prevents soap powder dissapearing down the waste & keeps it in the tub. One downfall from this system & the design of their waste (see pipe up to top of inside wall) is that the machine holds quite a bit of water in the machine after the wash has finished. If bacteria is in the machine & in this water it grows & it smells.
As in all machines a boil wash (service wash) regularly will help to prevent this.
But what i do & recommend you do is to programme an extra rinse & an extra high water level on your machine & the dirty water should be thoroughly flushed away after use.
Miele should give you advise (not technical) if you ring their helpline. They shouldn’t try to flog you descaler or anything else.Seamy

What sort of guarantee do they carry?
Although the parts are pricey, I think most customers will accept that you have to pay for quality. My labour charge is only a fraction of Miele’s call out!
I Think I will add Miele to my list from today.
Bob
2 Year Guarantee as standard, some 5 year, some 10 year depending on the machine.
Now that you’ve shaken off the nervousness about going near them..
theres money to be made servicing commercial Miele machines found in B&Bs, hotels, hospitals, nursing homes, laundries etcSeamy
ParticipantRe: How difficult are Miele Repairs?
Very well engineered. easy to work at (i think) well i’m trained on them so i shud have some idea :rolls: .
Most washers are based on the same chassis, all are programmeable & can be updated etc, they have service programes to check faults etc..
Dishwashers are not to bad, although the dryer systen on the D’W can be a bitch, its a condenser system & the fans are not great. Apart from that, i think they are designed with the Engineer in mind.
All Miele machines have a circuit diagram inside with programme chart etc, Never fear the unknown, they’re no harder than any other machine.
Only drawback is that the parts are serious pricey. -
