    Re: Zanussi Error Code E66

“E66- The contacts of the heating element power relay are always closed”

Think that error code tells you that the relay supplying the element is always on.
So if I was you i’d be checking if there is a faulty relay supplying the heater!

But being an Engineer i’d be testing the elements of the washer & dryer for earth leakage & not continuity. 💡

What do you need a service manual for, whats the problem you have with it?

Maybe a faulty door interlock. Perhaps its time to get an Engineer to check it out for you. The sequence should be shut the door & then press the start button though.

Hold in the start / cancel button for about 5 seconds & if fault doesn’t clear one of the two p.c.bs or both of them may be faulty.

Have I missed something? Are there other known faults for this problem?

As my learned friend said do an insulation test on the element & you may find theres an earth fault on it.

If it’s the appliance with the p.c.b at the back, some of them have had poor connections at the plug feeding the compressor. As you look at the appliance from the rear, on the left top of compressor cavity where the loom plugs in, there has been an issue of poor neutral here in the plug. This can cause compressor stopping & starting & not running at all. One thing to watch out for is that if the supply has been off for a while it will run a test sequence on power up. In which fan, compressor, defrost heater will all be run for a short time before compressor runs continuously.

Found them to go off on motor t.o.c going open circuit on long programmes. Basically the motor overheats & activates the over temperature protection. No signal back from tacho to p.c.b so it shuts down programme. After it cools down it will run again as f nothing has happened. Normally its a motor change, it should throw up an E52 fault in error codes if you check diagnostics.

Any fault code when it shuts down? Or does it just go blank?

Drain pump runs to empty water out, this should reset pressure switch to zero, if it doesn’t empty out then it won’t fill. Best check filter, pump, sump hose, also check water inlet valves for circuit.

Is there a flood protection in this one? Wondering if that would cause fault described if float is making only now & again.

Pump is a 1740300300 twist fit type, unless theres one on the pump housing, theres just a drain hose from there out.

Could be door not locking properly, or the solenoid that allows the water from sump to pump sticking or pump impellor jammers.

    Re: zwd16270w problem

E52 points to motor failure, i’ve had some of these go open circuit with the over temp’ t.o.c thats built in in the coil of the motor cutting out. Thing to look out for is if it completes short programmes o.k but cuts out on longer cycles, or on the second time its used without cooling down. Might just need the armature reseated & brushes changed.
