    Re: whirlpool timer blown

Hi Dave: Glad to hear it’s still going ok for you, run it at the 1,000 for a while to see how it goes. You should’nt have any problems with the 1400, you changed everything over to your machine. What was the problem with the other panel ?

Hi mate: From what I’ve been told about these machines the LE error in theory is meant to tell you that the motor is locked up. But the error can throw up for a number of reasons: Use of too much detergent or the wrong detergent, apparently your supposed to use only HE low sudsing detergent. Faulty Hall sensor or apparently reasonably common is damage to the Hall sensor wiring due to poor routing in manufacture.

No problems, glad you got it sorted. If they put things in easy places on appliances, then everyone would want to try repairing them Lol.

Sorry: When I punched the Model number of your machine into a search engine, I got a listing for motor brushes for it.

Have you tried cleaning the filter & checking for blockages in the pump ? if there’s water remaining in the tub it won’t complete the cycle, while you’ve got the machine open it would be a good idea to check out the pressure system as well.

:eeek: well mate, I’ve allways said we can cure the machines but we’ll never be able to cure the customers & you just proved it 8) 😆

While you have it apart, pull the Motor brushes & check them. May be something as simple as that.

Always happens: Send the Megger for calibration, you can guarantee a pig of a fault where your going to need it 😆

Have you checked the wiring in the door ? Not sure what you mean the pump starts of it’s own accord with the machine turned off ?

Re: Hotpoint WMA63 will not spin or turn under power

As spanishwhite says, your first check should be the motor brushes. It’s possible but very unlikely that the power being turned off & back on had anything to do with your problem, a power surge will normally blow the input side of the control board so nothing will work.

Re: Nextra8 HNF 7148 drain pump power problem ?

No appology nescessary, we all mess up trying to read things at times, especially when tired. The reason I asked about the pump being connected is that when you test for power with no load on a circuit then you very often see ghost voltages, especially when using a DMM & believe me it can get confusing if you’ve never seen the problem before.

Actually I didn’t query whether you checked the pump off the machine, I asked whether you checked the voltage at the pump connector with the pump connected to it. If you just check the connector with no load then you won’t get a true reading.

Hi Steve: What temerature did you check the thermister at ? Don’t assume that just because it shows resistance at 1 temperature it’s ok.
Trace the tracks back form the heater connector on the board to the relay that switches it & try replacing that 1st, you may well find it cures your problem & it’s a lot cheaper than a new board.
