The boss of one of the UK’s largest appliance repair firms has called for the safe return of a seven-foot tall screwdriver, after thieves struck earlier this week. The huge model screwdriver was fixed to the top of a van belonging to Chester-le-Street-based 0800 Repair when it was spotted by an opportunist thief in Homefield Road, Sudbury.Paul Feek, managing director of 0800 Repair, which specialises in everything from washing machine repairs to cooker repairs, is now offering a £100 reward if the company mascot is released by the kidnappers and returned in one piece. Mr Feek said he believes the perpetrator is either just having a laugh, or has a massive screw loose. He said: “That screwdriver has been one of the company’s most effective marketing assets for the past year and we’d like it to be returned to us safely. That’s why we’re offering this reward.“Someone out there knows something. I’m asking anyone who has seen a friend or relative acting suspiciously, or perhaps trying to disguise something that looks like a seven-foot tall screwdriver, to get in touch. “Alternatively I’d like the person responsible to screw up the courage and own up.” Mr Feek admitted no one at 0800 Repair saw the disappearance of the screwdriver coming, but confirmed that it would not hold back the firm which now offers appliance repair and replacement services and warranty products to tens of thousands of customers across the UK each year.reads more like an advert than a report, mr. feek should feek off.

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool AWZ 541 Condensor Dryer No Heat?
the problem is that all the wires are brown, take a look at your original photo and try and identify which wires go where,
two green sheathes to the bottom stats 2 no sheaths to the top stat, 2 white/clear sheaths to the element, the wires are thicker to the heater.suedehead1
ParticipantRe: Bosch WAE24162 can the fault code be cleared?

hthTo reset it.
Turn the appliance knob to the off or reset position, 12 o’clock.
Turn the knob to the 6 o’clock position.
Press and hold the spin button.
Whilst holding it, turn the knob to the 7 o’clock position.
Continue holding the spin button for about 5 seconds.
Release the button.
Turn the knob to off.
When your turn it back on it should have cleared the error code.
i beleive this is correct i went to one with f21 in the display, i replaced the brushes and it still came up f21 did the above and the display rest and it worked ok.suedehead1
ParticipantRe: customer wants money back!!!
thanks for the reply ken,
when someones giving you the i know where you live your getting it speech then it is a bit frightening, a sad indictment of modern day society.
legally i may be right but the fear of a brick going through my parents window makes me think i will send the £40 back.
i just dont know what kind of people i am dealing with, these are the type of incidents that end up with someone getting hurt . its just not worth the hassle for £40.
its a bit like when i used to go to peoples doors who hadnt paid there bills sooner or later its going to end in trouble, its not worth the hassle.suedehead1
ParticipantRe: customer wants money back!!!
yes £40 was a bit cheap but the problem believe it or not, was her fantastic engineer husband had fitted a new pump and put the hoses round the wrong way so the machine was pumping into the drum instead of out, i didnt think it was possible on an old wm series to put the hoses on wrongly.
i couldnt bring myself to tell her.suedehead1
ParticipantRe: customer wants money back!!!
i thought i would raise an old thread.
i went to a “customer” a couple of weeks ago, long story the edited highlights are i called out she comes to the door asked who i was and said she had cancelled.
got a call a week later to go back all apologetic.
its a hotpoint not emptying, i told her £40 to fix it , she phones her husband but cant get him.
she says go ahead, i fix it she pays by cheque, i ask for the card which she gives me.
then she tells me just because i have the card no. that doesnt mean the cheque will clear.
the next day she phones to say she has stopped the cheque, after speaking to her husband and son she is willing to pay me £20 but not £40 and she will send me another cheque.
i run round to the bank and deposit the cheque which clears.
she phones up today giving me abuse for cashing the cheque then she says this is not finished i will be getting it she knows where i live.
this is a woman in her 50s in a private bungalow,
what should i do phone the police or send the money back.
oh and another problem she doesnt know where i stay but has my parents address.suedehead1

ParticipantRe: Hoover HNF3157-80 Belt snapped now no spin?
the frayed belt didnt damage the wires going to the thermistor, that can throw up some strange faults.
