    the preselector timer is faulty its not resettable no amount of button pressing will fix it call hoover,
    when you set it to 29 mins the selector is telling the machine you have selected a different program, it needs a new part, dont touch it or you can invalidate your warranty.

    welcome to the trade section dont you have an old board kicking about?
    its the pcb there not too expensive but check you ge the right on as there are quite a few different ones.

    its easy to replace but you need a meter to tell wether it is faulty or not, although it may be visibly faulty.

    most likely to be the suppressor (worth fixing) not the sockets,
    plug out if checking,

    tried it both on timed setting and sensor drying and it is the same on both.

    thanks chris it was the y shape rubber hose connected to the heater, got it changed by taking the side of and the lower rear panel.
