Re: Hoover washer dryer that is not drying

you would be best posting the model number as there are many different variations of hoover washer dryers.
but normally if it has resetable thermostats they will be found under the lid on top of the dryer assembly.
they have small pegs sticking out if you give them a press they will give a pronounced click if they need reset.
there are various reasons why these thermostats will need reset.

    power off before touching anything

Re: Emergency repair to door gasket?

would suggest you must have the wrong door gasket if you post the model number of the machine and part number of the door seal i am sure one of the many excellent people on this site will help you out.
you could always try giving the door glass a clean.

    Re: TESCO £99 WASHER

a customer showed me the advert in the daily record just as i was installing a recon washing machine i was selling her for £100.
that will save me the bother of recon washing machines anymore i was selling them for £150 5 years ago.
this will also save me changing washing machine bearings, changing pcbs,
    changing motors, changing timers.
i am off to get a job at tescos stacking shelves.
yes they dont have any but a seed has been planted in peoples mind new washing machine = £100.

last one out put the lights off.

i would like to agree, i had a problem with the same machine it would only spin at slow spin it woudnt get up any speed i changed the motor it was still the same, i spoke to tony at emw who confirmed it is a common timer problem he sent me one tried it and it worked perfectly.

    Re: HOTPOINT TC71 ULTAMA CONDENSER

if it has a small timer next to the motor visible by taking off lefthand side panel it will be that one. it switches the heater off when the drum stops to reverse. it is very common for it to fail with no heat.
if it has no bottom timer then it will definately be the top timer, there 2 or 3 different ones but i think the new one comes with a wiring diagram to convert it if different.

i just send to emw for a board as and when required or if they dont have it i send it to them to fix it they are quick and reliable.
i carry bout a dozen servis boards but i still go to machines which i dont have the board for.

it is possible to open the door on this machine when it has water in it.
if it does not empty the water away it could be a blocked filter or faulty pump.

they phone up at 4 o,clock desperate, you go out your way to go and see
them by working late.call is 12 miles away.

it needs a new pump i have one here. “thats great but i have no money”.
i dont do any work without being paid. “come back tomorrow to fix it”.
i call back next day. ” i havent had a chance to get money yet i will call you when ive got money.”

i only look stupid i know as soon as her husband finds out its the pump he goes and buys one and fixes it himself.

48 miles, 1 hour of time, free advise, priceless.

Re: Bosch drum motor not turning ?

have you put new brushes in ? if so they can sometimes be a bit tight its a good idea to try sliding them into the holders if they dont go in smoothly the file the edge down a bit until the fit properly.

if you havent changed the brushes it would be a good idea to do so.
