i would certainly agree that it would be much better and cheaper in the long run replacing the brushes now rather than waitng till they need replaced.
it is fairly common for a motor to fail with a damaged commutator,
when the brushes have worn down too far.
better to spend the price of a pair of brushes than the cost of a motor.

the led flashing indicates a fault if you watch the flashing light closely it should be flashing for a number of times then a pause before it flashes again ie. flash 5 times pause flash 5 times pause etc,
its a bit tricky counting the number of flashes but it can be important for fault detection.

Re: Bosch SGS 46E12 Exxcel not draining

if the pump is turning it should be emptying under the cover where the pump impellor is there is a black rubber non return flap which is supposed to prevent water getting into the machine from the drain.
try taking the flap out it may be getting stuck.
if you take the left hand panel of there should be a weird looking plastic box the drain water goes through this you could trace it through and see if its blocked.

    plug out of course.

if the bung in the top is missing water will have got into the bottom of the dishwasher, this could have affected any of the components, the motor may have been damaged by the water if it is not washing.

plug out if you are going to check it but it may require expert attention.

i had a motor fail on one recently for the same reason.

motor brushes can cause a machine to go from working one load to not the next.

plug out and check the brushes first before anything else.

also obviously check the belts still on.

Re: Hoover Six 1300 Sportswear AL130 – Error Number 2

error 2 is a filling problem i doesnt matter if your hot water is hot or not the machine heats the water up anyway.
but depending on what program you are using some of which are hot fill only then if there is no water going in the machine it will show error 2.
turn your water of to the machine disconnect the hot and cold feed pipes, put the end of the hoses into a bucket then turn them on individually slowly to ensure there is water coming through them dont assume just because taps are turned on that water is coming through.
dont mix the pipes up if you take them off one at a time.

watch in case the water is very hot dont scald yourself and better take the plug out just in case.

it is a real pig the back has to come off (sharp edges).the wiring going to
the heater and capacitor comes off note where wires go obviously.
the the heater has to come off and some ducting.
the belt is a stretch fit if i remember no pulleys.
its really just a case of taking as many bits off as required, not difficult but time consuming.
not one of hoovers better designs.

there is no way of bypassing the door interlock unless you definately want to blow the board.
its much easier taking the clamp band off the door seal attaching it to the cabinet then removing the lip of the seal to allow you to get at the door interlock.
the only way to test it is to get a new interlock it is a bit of a gamble that it will fix it , but if you call out an engineer he would probably have one with him to try saving you the cost of buying a part you dont need but then you would have to pay the engineer.
in my opinion i would change the interlock and cross my fingers.

sorry i misunderstood your post it sounds like a board or wiring fault,
they are bad for wiring rubbing on the bottom of the tub near the motor.

if the door will not open with machine switched off it is usually because there has been an electrical short in the machine which has jammed the door interlock.

i went to two oldies this week a burco tumble dryer the pulley which the 2 belts went round at the back of the drum was broken, for some reason i had one in the garage.

the other an A2018 hoover, 1980 i used to see a lot of these the pressure switch tube was blocked.

i try to condemn every haier dishwasher i see, the door hinge springs are rubbish as is the whole machine you could cut your fingers off on the edge of the door panel wearing welding gauntlets.

i try to put a thin screwdriver through the end of the motor and break the barbs off first but you have to watch and not damage the commutator.
