Have you run the diagnostic? If so, what was the last recorded fault code?

Check the brushes. Usually, E52 is caused by worn brushes.

If you have just changed it, the defrost timer is not likely. Have you checked the defrost heater for continuity & insulation using an appropriate test meter?

Please isolate product from mains electric supply before use.

My best guess is that one of the seals has worn. There are quite a few seals though. NTC seal, thermostat seal, rear panel seal, heat exchanger seal, air duct seal, front drum seal, back drum seal, back panel seal kit, flap gasket & door seal to give the full list of them.

How old is it? Is the door seal ok do you know? It may be worth contacting Zanussi Customer Care & seeing if they will make any concession. I know they will consider each case & are usually willing to help if they feel it is warranted. If they say no, all you have lost is the cost of the phone call, although you could always email them but I find it is sometimes better to speak to someone directly.

You don’t ask, you don’t get.

Gents, there is a welded tub kit available for this model (PNC 914521108/00, 914521108/02, 914521109/00 & 914521109/02) from Distriparts. It consists of a welded tub assembly, 2 shock absorbers & 4 shock absorber pins. The part number you require is: 3484158104.

Ask & it shall be given. 8)

Having said that though, it isn’t cheap. Last one I did was over £120 RRP for the kit alone. 😯 Those kind people @ D&G paid for it though. 😀

Most likely just the door lock has failed but if you replace that & it is still the same, the triac that operates the lock has most likely blown as a result of the lock failing.

If it is less than 6 months, this may be of interest to you & your customer.

Proving goods were faulty when you bought them.

Where the goods are faulty, take them back within 6 months and the shop has to prove they WERE NOT faulty when you bought them. After 6 months you must prove they WERE faulty when you bought them.

By law you have up to six years to make a complaint, but this doesn’t mean goods must last six years, they must last what most people would consider to be a ‘reasonable’ length of time. So if there is wear and tear that breaks the product then the likelihood is you have no claim. Yet if it was an unreasonable fault, you do.

If there is an argument over whether the goods are faulty or not – the burden of proof is on the consumer.

Re: AEG Lavamat 86741 Error C6

C6 is caused by either a) defective mechanical pressure switch, b) defective pressure sensor or c) Defective wiring to either a or b.

You may want to just remove the hoses from the switch & sensor, noting what hose went where & blow down them to see if they are clear. If not, trace blockage & clear, refit hoses & test.

Before doing the above, please isolate the appliance from the mains electric supply.
