if the wiring is not tightened correctly in terminal block when it was installed, this will cause it to melt. also make sure it has correct cable-6mm twin & earth

it will cost £10 congestion charge and between £5 to £10 to park before you even look at the machine, not worth independants to work in congestion charge zone or west end of london, i gave it up years ago and never looked back

yes it will need programming with a smart card. a great example of an over engineered appliance that only hotpoint/indesit engineers can repair.

according to the technical info if the belt snaps then the drum and front felt bearing have to be changed as well? might as well scrap it-if i told a customer i would have to change these parts as well they would think i was trying to scam them!

i have had a few of these and also the vented type snapping belts. Remove the drum and check front seal, the ones i have repaired were getting jammed somewhere on the front seal. The vented type i gave up on as it snapped 3 belts in a week, i removed drum twice and found no reason for it-just lost money on that one and it has put me off repairing them.

maybe water has leaked from somewhere into the base. tilt machine backwards to 45 degrees and see if any water comes out, if it does then this is the problem, you will need to find out where the water is leaking from
