ParticipantGrill should only be across the front, its not a particularly big flame on them either so wont go back too far on the mesh.

Can still get them if you look hard enough, I’ve found a few in stock on the net in just a couple of minutes searching…….. I wouldnt repair it though if it were mine.

ParticipantCooker wise I would put to and go for a Rangemaster, I havent seen anything under a grand range wise that I would buy myself as a cooker specialist.

ParticipantThey (sort of) fixed this problem with some adhesive washers with the D shaped hole in them which you stuck to the front of the indicator disc to strengthen them, didn’t work perfectly but was alot better than the disc alone.

The trouble is, there’s not enough gas in the machine to cause this sort of damage IMO and that of a fridge expert so, what’s caused it?
1 litre of lpg = around 246 litres of gas depending upon temp of liquid.

Double oven with small grill.
Its badged Neff, Bosch and Baumatic and made and badged by Stoves.
Don`t ask model numbers, I`m not a model number collector. They have a similar oven but its not made by stoves, I have worked on both and was a Stoves engineer for 6 years so can pick a stoves build out from a mile away.

As both ovens are made by Stoves, who probably import from China as well.

ParticipantWith the pressure switch you just need to screw all the back panel down, that means every screw.
Did you buy this cooker as new ? as the serial number is telling me its over 6 years old.

ParticipantWhat is the actual model name ?
900gr ?
grf ?
is it a fanned gas oven ?

ParticipantBoth brands are now owned by AGA-Rangemaster, I imagine that means that the Mercury’s will soon be made in the Rangemaster factory maybe ?
For now though as a direct answer I would go for Falcon as the quality is just fantastic and I never hear a word of complaint from customers I visit with them.

Participant“All gas” cookers arent usually convertable from one gas to another due to thermostat and fsd by passes, only a very few can be converted.

Its ALOT better than Corgi, the qualifying standards as mentioned in this thread are exactly the same as before gas safe but gas safe arent making money by selling my details to third party suppliers (as corgi are still doing) or forcing me to register new installs with them as Corgi were, only yesterday I was sent a “unsafe procedures manual” for free (£19 from Corgi), The gas safe register also has a maximum profit amount set so they cant become a cash cow like Corgi did.I have to disagree . Despite working with gas, domestic and commercial for over 27 years, because I have started up on my own, i am treated by gas safe as if i just left college.
i am on probation for 3 months ( just been extended further 3 months ), have to notify every piece of gas equipment i work on, regardless of wether the gas is disturbed ;and for the privelege i have to pay something like an extra £200 this year on top of the ridiculous fee they charge already because i am “new ”
i have had to put their e mail addy in spam as i am sick to the back teeth of getting constant selling from them, and now they have started ringing me to do the same.
i thought corgi were bad – this lot leave them standing !Sorry but which bit of what you have said is different to Corgi ? You do realise that the “ridiculous fee” they charge is less than the equivalent Corgi fee’s dont you ? Corgi also chaged an extra £200 for people who were “new” like I had to pay 3 years ago when I went self employed, even though like yourself I had been qualified and Corgi registered with various companies for around 20 years before it was even compulsary.
Another plus of Gas Safe is that they have made a promise to use any excess profits to cut the price of registration. On the emails part I have not had one from them, what email address is it that you are recieving spam from ? I cant even think of anything they have to sell as they dont have anything like “Corgi-direct” set up as far as I know.

Its a bit more complex than that I’m afraid,
-Pipe sizing
-pressure loss
-ventilation requirements
-working pressure
-siteing requirements
-requirements of other appliances in the room you are working in or may notice while working in the house.
Remember if you have to relight a boiler and it has blatant faults on it that you dont notice, you were the last gas engineer to see it if anything goes badly wrong before any other gas engineers visit, whether you worked on it or not.wsts

ParticipantIf they didnt state it was lpg then you are entitled to your money back from whoever you purchased it from, was it left connected by the gas safe engineer ?
