    Re: Ariston TC720WH double oven.

Yes, the cooling fan is running fine; but when the back panel is fitted, air from the fan is effectively cut off from the lower oven by a sheet metal ‘shelf’ that separates the top and bottom ovens. I forgot to mention that. 😳
So if there is no airflow by design, why does it cut out? 😕

    Help!!!

    Steve.

Had this very problem a couple of weeks ago and it threw me as well. The flow meter is situated behind the left side body panel at the bottom of the airbox. It meters incoming water flow rates. :hmm:
First of all, pull off the plug and clean the edge connector and refit. If the F7 returns, replacement of the complete airbox is the only answer.

    Hope that helps,

    Steve.

Put 41ER101C1P in the ‘Search’ bar and Connections will find it.

Straightforward job. To avoid mistakes, draw a diagram or digital photograph the valve BEFORE you dismantle it. You then have something to refer to if you forget!! 8)
Power off and all will be fine!! Test for correct function on completion.

    Hope that helps,

Sounds like the clock has expired. If the clock doesn’t work, then you cannot set it to ‘manual’; therefore the relay switching power to the oven is not activated. Hence dead oven. The top oven / grill is not controlled by the clock, so remains unaffected.
Clock is gonna be costly……… 🙁

Certainly sounds like the usual ‘oxidised edge connections’ fault. These Delta type boards seem to regularly suffer with this problem.

EMW will test and repair it for you – send in your board as they don’t stock exchange units of that type of PCB.

Engineers, vans, fuel, several visits for the same job, call centre staff, scrapped machines, swapped machines, warehousing, shipping, road transportation all paid for out of that………..and most of my customers saying about the £90 charge, “How much???!! But it’s only 15 months old! It only cost me twice that new!!”
It’s not only the cost, but the customer’s overall perception of the product that is at stake here. Yes, they’ll pay today to get out of a hole, but will think twice tomorrow.

I’d love to be a fly on the wall at the next UKW meeting – especially if everyone had to book their rooms under their ‘coded’ names. 😆
Instead of giving out UKW sweatshirts, it’ll be obligatory white shirts with very long sleeves (that tie behind your back).
And make sure the ‘hotel’ rooms are fully padded……… :rolling:

Re: Hotpoint 5 Year parts warranty

Could this be a ploy for Merloni to finally rid itself of the free 5 year parts cover?
If they move the goalposts, and limit the availability, the end result will surely be a very marginal ‘take up’ of the scheme. Then, when confronted with questions, Merloni could be perfectly honest and say,”Well the response level received from customers was so low, that we have regretably decided to withdraw this offer due to the spiralling cost of the admin…….. :rolls:
Call me an old cynic; 😀 but for products that are often failing several times inside the first year statutory guarantee, the old Hotpoint 5 year pledge must be as welcome to Merloni as Scrooge’s chains.
The free 5 year parts warranty was instigated when the ‘real’ Hotpoint company was building good quality machines. The modern machines must be creating a huge black hole in Merloni’s finances, so how can such a scheme be workable today? Maybe it’s the writing on the wall for the parts warranty?
It is very difficult to recommend a new Hotpoint to a long-standing and staunch Hotpoint customer as it is almost certainly going to disappoint them. That alone is a shame. Then try and impose restrictions on the free parts warranty? Hmmmmm……….. 😥

Most likely its the edge connector to the facia PCB not making a good contact, or the connections are oxidised. Pull off the edge connector plug, pinch it with pliers gently to tighten it, clean the edge connections with some emery paper and refit the plug. I had this a few weeks ago and this method sorted it. 8)

    Hope that helps,

    Re: zanussi fj1254w

Just had a thought…. the user interface PCB (facia PCB board) on these type of machines quite often have communication problems due to loose or oxidised contacts on the board or its edge connector plug.
Remove the facia, unplug the edge connector, unscrew and gently prise the PCB out of its frame. Clean the contacts with emery paper and refit the PCB to the facia. Pinch the edge connector (plug) with pliers to tighten it and refit. Reinstall the facia and it should fire up! 😉

    Hope that helps!!!

    Steve.
