I had an analogic pressure switch fail and it gave the same symptoms you describe. But that was after a door interlock had blown the PCB and the fascia PCB……… 😥
After I fitted those and it threw up the E30 figure I practically had heart failure!! And all on a 16 month old integrated washer drier; quality eh?Steve.

If the motor is squealing then the motor bearings are failing. This is not the same as the drum bearing. You cannot renew these; it’s a new motor I’m afraid. 😥
Word of warning – Do Not under any circumstances attempt to lubricate the motor bearings with any spray oil, chain lube or WD40 – these lubricants are volatile and highly flammable so it is possible the sparks from the brushes could cause a fire. If the motor runs to spin speed and it is very noisy without the belt on then it is finished. New motors are expensive……Candy’s are not……. 😉

Have you checked the filter? It’s behind the kick strip and is locked by one small screw. Undo the screw until the filter front will turn anti – clockwise. Be prepared for about a pint of water so have some old towels handy. Clean the filter and the chamber and refit as a reversal of removal.

Nowt down here at all……yet. My kids are really disappointed. Loads of black ice around though – I really hate that. Global warming? Balls….

It’ll probably be a blocked condenser. Back panel off, lower hose from tub to condenser off (usually blocked solid) and rod out the fluff from below with a stiff wire. If you can’t get it all out from there, then remove the condenser completely, fiddly but possible. Reset the safety stat and all should be well.

Comet special, Jim – although it’s of Brandt origin. Connect list a fan element for it….that’s it. Sorry.
Maybe helo_75 can shed some light on the spares you need. 😉Steve.

Or blocked pressure bottle or filter – the analogic pressure switch is very sensitive so it may detect water in the machine and not unlock the door. The pressure switch will not allow the instantaneous door interlock to open if there is water present, even a little bit. Worth a look…….

Looks like it’s a Whirlpool machine: so the F4 will be a draining fault.

Set it to the rinse cycle and the drum should turn if it is the thermostat at fault. Check brushes and tighten the connector strip on the PCB.

Thanks, Jim – much appreciated!! Have you got the part number for the 100bit PCB for this machine? Connect numbers are their own part numbers (useless) and Qualtex give 2 types. I am wondering if, in my haste and under pressure from the customer, I may have got the wrong one………..:?

Cheers, Chris!
I suspected it, but now you’ve confirmed it. Only available as the whole air chamber assembly, IIRC?Steve.

Sorry Jim – I realise that saying ‘Indesit’ in such a frivoulous fashion instantly earns you five lashes with a cat’o’ninetails if you so much as utter it in the “Church of the Good Hotpoint”………. :snigger:

Sound like a door switch problem to me…..
No relay on this Indesit – built gem; just PCB module and selector switch.HTH,
