The fault turned out to be a bad connection on the plug-in connecters to the main PCB, I had squeezed the small ones but it was not until I got a needle and eased each one out a bit that it cured it.

I did first send the board to EMW who did not find a fault.

I haven’t been back to this yet going on Tuesday, I have just got a new thermostat kit (10703608) which has one-shot cut out, a cycling thermostat and an NTC, should I not get some sort of reading across this as both the one in the machine and the new one are open circuit

Looking at the wiring diagram it shows the NTC as closed circuit.

Its not a red button but a red spot on the cut-out which is the 110 deg on the left, the other one could be a purple spot 85 deg on the right

It’s leaking from it at the front you can see the water trickling out where the top join is
There are bubbles coming up the fill chamber that connects to the softener, so there had to be a hole in the softener
The base had filled with water and activated the float switch
