    COMMON QUESTIONS AND PROBLEMS
    The washing will not dry?
The machine only runs for 20 minutes?
    1. Mains power fuse has blown.
    2. Overheating, fluff blocking the filter, condenser
    unit or fan housing.
    3. Overfilling: The display shows “Fault indication,
    filling”
    4. The machine does not reach the measured
value of 1,8 mV within 15 minutes.
    This can be due to:
    – Incorrect connection to single phase = too
low heating element power (720 or 600 W)
    – Incorrect connection of element to control
    unit
    – Incorrect connection in element terminal
    block
    – Humidity sensor not located in fan hous
    ing
    – Faulty humidity sensor
    – Heating element open circuit
    5. Drive belt running incorrectly on motor shaft
= too high drum speed > 56 rpm
    Overheating protection tripped even though
fluff filter and condenser unit have been
    cleaned.
    1. Fault in control unit
    2. Fluff in internal fan wheel – clean also air ducts
    and behind the element.
    3. Motor overheating protection tripped.
The machine shows the Maximum program
    time fault indication.
The indication means that the machine has been
running for the maximum time (= 3 hours) that
    the control unit is allowed.
This can have several independent reasons, or a
    combination of these.
    1. Mains power fuse has blown
    2. Fluff in the filter, condenser unit or fan hou
    sing.
    3. Incorrect connection to single phase, 10A
    4. External air is restricted or blocked, resulting
    in poor condensation
    5. High ambient temperature + low heating ele
ment power + low drying temperature resul
    ting in poor condensation
    6. Low ambient temperature + low heating ele
ment power + low drying temperature so that
it is difficult to get the dampness out of the
    clothes .
    7. The washing has been spun dry at low speed,
    i.e. less than 800 rpm
    8. The washing has been taken out before the
program was completed. The machine was
then loaded with a new batch of washing. In
that case the control unit did not have time
to reset itself and the time was added to the
    next drying cycle.
    9. Damaged humidity sensor, its wiring or con
    nections.

As Martin says, new bearings are a waste of time without drum support.
the only parts that are good is the front drum and inner drum.
Penny pinching here will cost you dearly.
This can be a good job but if you dont get it right it will cost you.

Re: hotpoint wma 34 wma series expert advice bearings

    Last resort.
The last time I got one like that, I had to break / smash the rear tub so that I could access the screws for the spider. drill the spider screws out and prize the inner drum out.
fitting a new spider to the inner and a new rear tub plus tub seal made good.
I am sure all will agree no where near as bad as it seems.
make sure you have a gbig hammer and sharp drill.

    Re: tool boxes

I thought only I collected toolboxes, I have a RS heavy duty case which goes up in value better than the housing market.
Trouble with that because its got everything in it that I want, its too heavy.
But it certainly is a showpiece and looks good when impressing the customer. That said
I picked up a case from Ebay for around £70 with no base board.
That carries most tools inc cordless and kneeling pad. Thats really handy so much so that I increased the tools and weight to nearly the equivelant of the first kit.
Then of course is the bearing (thumping box) with special tools, bearing tools etc.

After taking on an employed role, even using a car I couldnt resist another tool case, although the tools are generally different – AF for one.

I still get the urge to buy just another screwdriver…. as I ponder outside the tool shop. 😳

Is it just me who is a tool junkie?
I am sure I could get the whole third world working with the gear sat waiting for just another tub job.

Looking at the above it looks like someone has made a very big job out of something quite simple.
    Ceramic Seal ????
bronze bush comes as part of the drum support. Not excatly costly.

You can order the snubber and spring kit, but this now comes with the base, unless you order the snubber and new springs seperately.

Check inside if there is lots of plastic shavings formed in the base (corn starch is normal)

Usually if the drum stays it shows a good snubber. But this would cause drum banging.

These are machines you really need to know, if you dont find a resolve PM me and I will let you know who is in the area who knows the machine.

Just read through these, still laughing. had a customer a real Kn*b
Couldnt refrain after several years of putting up with him. he would spend but the after sales expected???
Final straw was when he really tore into me because the manufacturers service engineer called when he happened to go out. couldnt refrain any longer when I informed him I realise his parent really knew what they were naming him Richard Head – Well and truly.
If he didnt shorten his name we certainly did, DICK.

Another Mrs Hawkwood, a nice lady then met her daughter inlaw a really AWKWARD.

The tool is available from Halfords for the clip is used in the autotrade.
You can use a terminal driver or slightly wider to insert in the clinched head. slightly twist which eases the clip apart.
When re fitting reinstall and use a pair of sidecutters to squeeze the head again and hey presto a good clip once more.
The tool costs around £15 better results seem possible using the above method.
    Hope this helps.

    Re: Corporation Tax.

    Hi Chris,
You really need to speak with your accountant regarding this but if this helps.Like you we went down the road of limited to enable a small wage and dividends at the time it was 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} on dividends rather than the normal 22{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} basic tax or 40{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} (higher rate).
I dont think your accountant advised incorrectly as it was never seen coming that Gordon Brown would hit this and hike it up to 19{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} “milkman tax” as quoted.
Although I now run my business on a part-time basis and in the main I am employed. The business is subject to capital gains on profit.

One thing you could ask your accountant about is the possibility of a directors loan. As a director you can take a tax free loan from your business on an annual basis upto I may be corrected £4000 per annum.
This loan can be written off in due course and need not be paid back to the business.

For some time now I have shown three items on my spreadsheet.
    1/ wage 2/ dividends 3/ loan account.

Although I only draw off a small amount per month now, my accountant did show a wage to claim the allowance for filing online. This was promptly followed by a cheque from the Inland Revenue for £250

From days of old it never seemed fair, even when you think youve had a poor year the tax still hits.
Your accountant needs to be proactive in reducing this. The best advice anyone could give is open a seperate account and transfer a amount per month every month, dont use that account for anything else so it can be seen each payment. When the tax bill hits you, you are prepared for it.
Then transfer the money back into your business account and pay the capital gains and personal tax which you will get.

Take some comfort from the fact 19{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} is less than 22{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} on dividends and keep your wage just above the minimum limit for national insurance, so as to not loose your basic state pension in your old age.
Whatever that may be when we get to it.
Wont that toolbox seem heavy when your 85….. 😥
