ParticipantRe: Bosch SGS43102 GB/06 not draining. Pump maybe?
Most likely just a blocked/fouled pump…the model number you’ve given isn’t recognised on the Bosch website but if your machine has a stainless steel tub (rather than grey plastic) then have a look in your instruction book, it will tell you about the small cover in the sump which can be removed by the one torx screw holding it in. This will expose the impellor so you can chaeck if anything is jamming it.
Just be a little careful if you poke a finger in, sometimes it’s a sharp chip of glass in there .
If you have the cover off then start the machine on any cycle for a few seconds, very often the pump will run and kick out whatever was stopping it 😉

ParticipantRe: Integrated Whirlpool door
Yep, no problem taking the door apart like that…if you’ve never done it before you might want to enlist a second pair of hands to hold the door against it’s counterbalance springing 😉
Just make sure it’s electrically isolated (plug removed from socket or double-pole switch OFF), and be careful of sharp edges on the door inner piece…..

ParticipantRe: Fill Time for a Dishwasher ?
Yep, your heater has probably gone west due to running with insufficient water 😕

ParticipantRe: Fill Time for a Dishwasher ?
The pressure of the water supply is really of secondary importance, yes you need a certain pressure for the inlet valve to kick open but the flow rate is the critical thing.
Disconnect the supply hose and run it in a bucket, if it takes longer than a couple of minutes to fill it then that’s your problem…if it fills it quite rapidly then the fill valve is faulty and that’s a fault i’ve seen a handful of times on Bosch dishwashers 😉

Yes, if there’s enough slack in the harness then solder the broken ends together, reinsulate with tape and make sure you pull some slack through from the bottom so a new section is being flexed.
Alternatively cut and splice a several inches of new wire instead.
Make sure the harness is fully insulated (check other wires for cracking) and try to position the whole harness so it flexes in a different place.

ParticipantRe: rs21 freezing up again
Heaters generally work perfectly until the day they fail then never work again…of course it may simply be a mechanical blockage in the drain hole like a wayward price label or frozen pea 😀

If the pump itself is ok that sounds more like a pcb then, but do check for earth faults as they play havoc with the pcb 😕

Well if they need a little practice they might try this :-

Have you tried the error test using the buttons on the control?
The tray heater can be metered, not sure exactly what resistance you should get but i would imagine it would be around 1-1.5k?

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool Generation 2000+ Oven Fault
If the element is producing any heat at all then it’s fine, elements work until the day they fail then never work again.
Unfortunately these do not have a thermostat, they are controlled electronically so if there is an issue with the operating temperature you will need either a new control pcb (£90ish) or a temperature probe (50ish) or possibly even both.

They do 3 or 4 back washes before complete fill…seems like an age before the wash pump cuts in. If the drain pumps runs for a minute or so then stops for a about half a minute then repeats it sounds like it simply isn’t taking in water.
Is the hot supply pressure/flowrate sufficient to open the valve?

IIRC they are n/o so a magnet will close it 😉

ParticipantRe: Bosch sms4452gb
They are not designed to need lubrication so there is a problem with it. Very occasionally the primary gear slips along it’s shaft and doesn’t mesh correctly with the next gear. You can check this if you can very carefully remove the small drive motor and look at the cog on it’s drive shaft…try and work out if it’s still aligned with the corresponding gear in the gearbox, and if it has moved then some very gentle taps with something soft-faced like a screwdriver handle should tap it back on. Be aware that if you tap it too far it will be nigh on impossible to move it out again 😉
Failing that you have nothing to loose by using WD40 but ultimately you would need a new timer.

Having fully exposed the impellor you can unscrew it by hand using a cloth to hold it if necessary…the moulded nut in the centre is very weak and will probably get chewed up with a socket anyway.
The seal kit does include a new impellor and large ‘O’ ring as well as the impellor seals 😉
