Well after 15 years of working for Servis I probably wouldn’t as they tend to be abit tempremental. But if you can’t get the correct one or the price is daft and you don’t mind going back if it doesn’t work I might just try it 8) OEM part number is 526013600

I’m about to navigate the middle ground here. My feeling is abit jaundiced to be honest having spent quite alot of time trying to generate any enthusiasm for this next meeting from both engineers and manufacturers. Its the apathy thing – but perhaps we should look at it this way. If you are attending a training day with one of the manufacturers you would not expect to pay for lunch. Bryan has a point though, a limited menue also allows us to control the purse strings.
At the moment we have confirmation that 6 manufacturers are coming totalling 10 bodies and around 25 engineers including wives.

Honestly I find this very purile and frustrating, we have to put up with being given all this hasstle from them but when we ask them to show their faces they just throw the teddies out of the pram.

ModeratorRe: SERVIS M6503 DOOR SEAL
There are two different door seals fitted to this appliance, the first one you have listed is one, the other seal fitted prior to 2006 is 404002600 if you have a look on the old seal you will see the part number in the seal itself. This will allow you to identify the right one for your machine.

I have had a refusal from Servast and the suggestion the SMEG wont be coming either. Seems someone on UKW has peed them off :duck:

Yes it is 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} likely that the compressor will be OK – surely, the cost of a new relay is worth the chance better than a new appliance??

Not wishing to be rude and having every sympathy with you plight. The appliance was initially guaranteed for a period of two years during which all repairs were free of charge. I glean that your unit is now outside of this guarantee (?) but as I understand it still covered within the fridge compartment for parts. You have stated that you have replaced the evaporator cover and now have the same problem. If the evaporator cover is of the later design and is once again frozen up then the original fault has been wrongly diagnosed. The fault is either the evaporator heater, the drain heater, defrost sensor or thermal fuse. To identify the newer evaporator look for a long metal plate below the fan defrost hole. Finally, take on board that only a small minority of these units have failed about 5{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}.

As a general rule these start relay/overload combinations are very reliable unless they get left off in a damp area. When this happens the moisture that has been absorbed causes the part to burn out.
