Re: Are These Servis DW Motors Interchangeable?

Briefly looking on our Servis data we have three different motors fitted to these machines dependent on date of manufacture. If you can give me the serial number I can tell you what is the genuine and then you can see which one you want.

There are two versions of this appliance – one uses a conventional thermostat the other an electronic equivalent – I think you have the latter but could you post the serial number of the appliance to clarify. It should start with 99 or 200

I would suggest in line with Bryan that you have a shortage of refrigerant. Bearing in mind the value of the product, I would be asking for an estimate for a recharge before you get anyone out.

Is that the same one as used in the Hotpoint EW61 Dave?

    Re: Indesit GF 4262 problem

I would suggest one of two options – either it is short of gas and doesn’t reach the desired temperature or the motor (compressor) is failing, in which case it will never reach the temperature. Either way you need a fridge engineer to sort it for you.

Now whilst my collegue Helo is not of a diplomatic nature being from Lancashire (wrong side of the Pennines) he has a point. The service engineer should have tested the socket first and having found the mains circuit safe, subsequently done a portable appliance test on the product. This would have told him where the fault was. It is as helo says unlikely that the cabling within the foam insulation is faulty, however it could be faulty at either the temperature control end or the compressor area. Whilst Beko may have recommended the engineer – seems like he was having a bad day :zap:

    Re: LEC fridge freezer query

Remove the screws from the grill and with the help of someone GENTLY
bend it back to 45 degress. You then have enough room to replace the drain hose onto its fitting. Zip tie (cable tie or similar) the hose on its fitting and then GENTLY bend the grill back and re-screw. Jobs done.
