    Its a SMEG not wpl.

not sure what hose you mean. the one that is the inlet to the wash pump from the sump is 758971523 while the outlet to the bottom arm (via the sump) is 758971595

can fax you a diagramm if you post your fax number.

    Re: Yellow Pages

I had the same last year, they came and told me how awfull my existing adds were (which have basicly evolved form the original add from years ago) Subject to his hard sell I agreed the adds were somewhat old fashioned and dated so I went with his slick mdern approach.
During the following year I was constantly told by customers that they had trouble finding our phone number and when I mentioned yellow pages they swore we were not in there. I then asked them to show me where they were looking and there we were, right across the bottom £2k’s odd of shiny colourful advert. ” oh, I didnt think that was you” was the usual comment as the add seemed to suggest to them that we were some sort of multinational and they didnt associate it with the local guy who has worked on their stuff for years. (and no doubt there is a sticker with our number inside the door anyway!)
Admittedly we had moved from a shop during that period and it is amazing how many people only knew us from the street name we were in without remembering our actual name.
Now we are back to our old adds, updated and importantly a “formerly of” statement added under our name. I did notice an air of resignation and disheartedness in the usually flamboyant salesman who didnt try to get me to increase my budget at all and happily agreed with my points.
I also noticed nowdays you do not need to have your address in the advert….

That is the customer code, need to interrogate the pcb on the test programme to find the actual code.

True, DM’s not been the same for years. Tried Monkey boots once and they left black skid marks all over peoples Lino.
Try Skateboard trainers such as DC as the soles are really flexible and dont crack. Not so good when wading through water flooding out of the washing machine door you just opened not realising its full due to a duff valve.
Also bear in mind the customers that request us to remove them before entering house (and then put them back on at the place you are working, needless to say) and you dont want to flaff around with loads of laces and eyes.
Guess Health and Safety may dictate some god awful steel towcapped work boot but, in my case, no thanks.

Try it and let us know the outcome. IME it just does not fit physically. There is just not the space to fit it between the remaining oven stat/regs whatever are each side of it. It may well replace that thermostat on a different appliaction but on those toplines it just wont fit. Prove me wrong as there are a lot of those cookers being scrapped because of it. It is possible to wire over it to make the top oven work on the grill function only…its better than nothing.

    Re: Black list bible?

Dont like a challenge then Martin? Would be a long list had I blacklisted any model that caused a headache or financial loss the first time I came across one. Take the Hairer dishwasher, would have blacklisted it after the first few but done so many now I just take them forgranted. Plus the chances of getting an accurate model number from a customer is pretty remote. Even getting an accurate make is often a problem.
I could understand a list of makes you may not want to get involved with due to tech issues or parts supply but model by model?
Intrigued to hear just an example of one of your blacklisted models Martin…..

log in worked fine. clicking on forums seemed to bring me back into the old site. Having just sat in the cold for 90+ minutes at White Hart Lane this afternoon I dont really want to discuss football, other than slagging off A**enal that is.

retail price not as expensive as you might think, given the cost of the appliance in the first place. Motor was £79.39. timer £69 odd.

    😳
thanks to sorted and spanner 51. It was the timer after all 😳
not that it was entirely my poor judgement as…..after fitting the new motor, which did not cure the fault, the customer noticed me having a nervous breakdown and finally admitted that her husband had removed the “relay” on top of the motor and ” a bit flew out” which they never managed to find and so just put it all back together and leaving the capacitor out of circuit as I explained above. Customer therefore happy to pay for motor and timer and job now done.
    Thanks again chaps.

Re: To Charge or not to charge – that is the question

oh god, not another Arsenal fan!

IMO no fault founds should be charged a higher rate as it takes longer to establish there is no fault and in all probability you will get a recall from it. In reality, it justifies having a standard flat rate that everyone knows they have to pay from the outset whether the repair is done or not. Even better, get it in advance, offer your normal warranty and if the same fault shows again, sort it out for cost of parts only.
