Most of the SMeg ones are pretty similar, its just whether they have studs or holes. (having said that they are now sending “studded” elements out as “holed” ones with 2 screws) Just check the wattage and any Smeg one will probably fit.

Thanks Steve, but the only screws I could see were a row of brown ones that appeared to be fixing the oven base, I undid these and the corresponding ones at the front and attempted to remove the base but it couldnt be removed due to the overlap at the front. Are you saying the silver base beneath the element will drop down? Must admit I didnt see any other screws. thanks anyway, will have to get back there and have a look. Quick 10 minute job I was expecting!

E20 is only the fault that the user see’s. You need to interogate the machine to find the real code ie E21, E23 etc. Usually draining related.

assuming of course the air bell in sump hose is clear, then it is most certainly the module. (lathough it could also be a dodgy motor but try a module first.) I also assume you are testing this empty as its pretty sensitive about out of balance loads. They take a lifetime to spin though, you need to start the test at the end of the final rinse and just sit and watch it. Its the good old 546060201 module and I get through loads of them.

I said as I packed up “There is nothing to warrant”

Yep someone at the recent UKW meeting told us of a hood now with the motor and works on the outside of the building (air con style) with ducting leading the the cannopy which is just that, a canopy with no works inside.

Checked the filter, and it was smegged up to the eyeballs. Cleared filter, and tested rinse and spin, and it worked OK. Later the same day she is back on the phone. ” I just did a quick wash, and it has taken twice as long as usual.” Went Back next day, checked various things, and found heater open circuit. Changed heater, did some functional tests including rinse and spin. Seemed OK. I told her to try a load in it and call me back. She called back later to say it had done the quick wash prog in the normal time but had failed to pump out and spin. went back yet again, stripped pump and extracted a plastic label from pump. tested it on rinse and spin and it worked OK. She called back later to say it worked OK. Dont you just love this job… Short of running a machine through every programme, how do you avoid this sort of Fiasco?

Maybe cleaning out the air bell in the sump hose at the same time as the filter would have saved the heater re-call. Just a thought.

clean up the shaft of the gearbox with some emery before sliding the new support tube on, have been known to crack the new tube if you dont.
A job like this demonstrates how much this trade has altered in a very few years. To tell the truth I am glad i dont do any of these sort of jobs anymore. Give me a nice clean pcb swop any day.

    Re: diplomat dishwasher

sounds like a good old E7 error, just needs re setting:
With the door open, turn on the appliance and within three seconds push 4 times on the program selection
button – The test program has been selected if the SOAK and STRONG LED’s are flashing
This LED combination represents the test program for the appliances that have a flow meter.
If the above indication is not shown on the appliance, switch the appliance off and try the sequence again
until the above LED’s are shown on display.
Now push on the program button once more to select the version ‘without flow meter’, check that the SOAK
LED goes out, and the display is indicated as below.
Do not close the appliance door, to complete settings switch the appliance off.
Now switch the appliance ‘on’ and test on a SOAK program.

Thats the Bosch classic popcorn making feature. 😆

Dont know, check the pump filter at the bottom of the front for obstructions in the pump. Remiove filter and look in hole with a torch, might be something stuck inside.
