Glad you got it sorted but, for future readers of this post, we just need to point out that live testing such as described here should not be carried out and can be lethal.

You need to count how many times the light is flashing between pauses as the knob is clicking. This should give us some information as to what the problem is. If you have checked the filter then you probably have done as much as you can without proffesional help.

Yes, it will be the fan broken, in some cases the broken bits also break the fan cover so you may need to check that too. The drum does have to come out buts its easy, done from the back. Once out of the way access to the fan and motor is also easy. The fan is an interference fit on the motor and usually has to be broken or cut off and the new fan “tapped” back on.

Its a blocked pressure chamber or the little pipe that connects it to the sump under the flap, if fitted. remove the rh side panel and the air break/pressure chamber can easily be removed. The pipe that is blocked runs through the salt container (but not part of it) Search on here for a E2 fault as its pretty much the same, if you are really unlucky, it can also indicate circ pump impellor problem.

As a matter of interest, if anyone hasn’t updated Partfinder prices, could they look up: C00078377 as I am sure that used to be a lot more than it is now.

Scott did a great explanation of this mysterious number, that often gets quoted as a model number by customers looking for parts, last year on the DASA web forum.

Sounds like either the module or timer or maybe even the motor or a combination of those. Not likely to be the belt. Ensure the plug is out before investigating.

something tells me that you may not be particularly suited to repairing your own washing machine.
For your info they are inside the motor. Unplug before trying anything and take a hint, call a pro.

Did anyone get a Xmas card from them? I didnt for the first time in 25 odd years. Remember the days we used to get 2 proper calenders (a shop one and “back room one in plain brown envelope”, a diary/planner book and a couple of bottles of some spirit of some sort. Whatever happened to those days?

    Re: Servis Modules

Used to be a very common failure but dont get so many anymore, sadly as the newer modules are differrent.
Its usually the 2 large, white ceramic power resistors that you can see sticking up in paralell with each other. If one goes you often loose spin or when both go you get the problem you described. They are an unusual value, at 6.2K but they can be replaced with either 6.8k or 5.6. I have used both without problem but use the 6.8 to err on the side of safety. Connect sell them.

If pressing the facia in stops it, it doesnt suggest a major problem. Maybe a loose weight or even a loose screw in the cabinet. Maybe you could find a cheaper fix here if no parts are needed.
