You shouldnt really have frost down at the compressor and this would indicate a blockage in the system of some sort. Would suggest professional help. Doesnt always suggest a seriously expensive problem and its almost certainly not he compressor at fault as someone suggested.

ModeratorRe: Bosch electric oven intermittently fails to heat up
Probably just caused by a bad connection to the switch. Would advise changing the spade terminals at the same time as the switch. Of course this assumes you are a suitably expereinced person to do so and whatever, make sure the power is switched off before doing anything.

dont think the technic models are ever recognised on BSH site. the fully intergrated types dont usually suffer the dry joints either. Have you defo checked that heater to earth? and check the microswitch on the heater hasnt popped out of its clip and also the pipe from the float switch to the sump isnt blocked restricitng the amount of water in the tub. all this is assuming it is the same as a Bsoch model of course.

I returned 3 days later with tub & bits, still intrigued, after whipping the old tub out & removing the front & rear tub fixing bolts, I found the offending tub killer, a Argos pen
You mean the little pens in the store for filling out the coupon with? Busted through a tub? says a lot for the quality of the tub.
Bosch bearings (models under 5 yrs old that is) never fail, I wonder what their secret is
Must admit, havnt done one in 6 months or so but never say never Martin, have done plenty of plastic Maxx’s, most of which were 2-3 years old or even less. OK so its not a WMA style deluge but all the same.

ModeratorRe: Removing the decorative frame around a AEG microwave ?
Yeah, pretty much all of those have 4 screws concealed by wedge shaped plastic bits in between the vent fins in each corner. Beware if its the black fronted one as the outer clear plastic usually “crazes” when you prise these out and if the customer notices thses it will cost you a packet. Best warn customer before proceeding, its not much damage but you know how beady eyed they can be after you have finished.
BTW if the fault is no turntable or fan, but the clock counts down and the mag can be heard then just disconnect it from the mains for 30 secs or so, re-start it and the fault will be gone. Dont ask me why but we have had loads.December 30, 2005 at 1:21 pm in reply to: Bosch SGS43C12GB/15 FD8409 Grease/fat left on filter #159243eastlmark

Just another point, supposing members here, for example the bloke from Masterpart does some posting, will he not be a bit miffed at having an advert for Qualtex, for example, on the bottom of his posts? just a thought.

Yes you can use the dryer on its own. Dont overload it though-about half a full wash cycle. Set the wash programme selector to the dry cycle position immediatly after the main wash spin. I think its marked as a grey dot on this model, then set the dry time using the timer knob, press the half load button and switch on. the drum should start turning back and forth and you should be able to hear the whine of the fan motor too, ensure the cold water supply is turned on.

Your fan element has blown, no amount of re setting will fix it I am affraid. Not an expensive job though.

Any chance of using an alternative font or at least another line so it appears different to what we have written so it doesnt look like our own personal recomendations?
Given UKW’s new commercial standing, we look forward to being paid for future articles 😉

ModeratorRe: Hygena Select (APL 8214/2) – Bottom Spray Arm
There is nothing on the basket to keep the arm in place but there is a locking ring under the arm itself which may be either broken or missing or you just hav’nt turned it enough to lock it in place. Would suggest a new spray arm and locking nut be ordered if not. email spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk and a nice person will help you out.

ModeratorRe: Whirlpool Microwave / Oven Buiilt in
Wouldnt recomend a diy fix for any Microwave due to the danger of electric shock even with the thing unplugged. Sounds like it could be a relativly simple fix though and being a built in convection its a fairly expesive appliance so I would recommend calling expert help on this one. Must admit though I dont recogninse that model number so cannot realy advise further.
