    Re: Gorenje 2000rpm spin!

Going way off topic here, but Skodas were a great choice for modified saloon car racing in the 70’s and 80’s as their rear engine design and aerdynamic shape (well compared to the only alternative of a rear engined car, the Beetle, they were) made them suitable bodywork for what was basicly an F1 car. A glassfibre shell would just be fitted over a year old Lotus or something. It used to be quite an amusing sight all these skoda’s blowing away BMW’s etc.

    K.

Yeah, but that doesnt count, i am sure Skoda had a 220mph supercar at some motor show but it wasnt reflected in a road car. and who remembers the BEKO blobby direct drive washing machine at shows a few years back?

    Re: Did You Know This?

That reminds me of a few years ago when i had more employees than now. 3 out of 5 had incorrect addresses on their licences and were reluctant to update them. They all gave the same excuse as not wanting the (then) new photo ID type. One of them was, like, 3 addresses old. i got the feeling they just didnt want their current address on their licences for whatever reason. I thought maybe they had reported this licence stolen or lost and had another one on which all endorsments and stuff were on, and kept this one to show the likes of me that they had a clean licence. Like with finding out if they had a criminal record or not, i was powerless to do anything about this.

The condenser inlet is on the back of the tub where the plastic condensor bolts onto the tub. There is a drilled metal plate hidden under here which gets blocked. Its a nightmare to access though and would recommend expert help.

You are just out of my normal area, but could do a special for you if you want. Although, your description of the fault does not sound hopefull.
If you post the Model number, I can quote you a worse case senario price as it may be the drum bearings gone.
    Call me if you want.

If anyone else here wants to pick this up you are quite welcome!

Must admit I dont know that model. But this sort of fault is usually down to the module. Could be costly given Servis prices but QER http://www.qer.biz or EMW http://www.emwelec.co.uk/ may help with an exchange or repairing the old module.

Yeah, There are 2 issues a year and we are now well into using the second issue this year. I guess if you use it that rarely, its not going to be worth the cost.

    Re: Neff Microwave, MW5965

Although your model number is not recognised, most Neff Microwaves of that age use invertor technology which is highly complex and baffles us sometimes. They are also prone to having the exact fault you mention which is neither cheap or easy to fix. If it is only as old as you say, I would suggest contacting the official Neff service agent in you area and kick up a fuss as they may help given its age or it may even have a 2 year warranty on it.

Yeah, those alarm ones brought back a memory of a job in a house called “Chelsea” for some reason (I cannot imagine why anyone would want to call their house that) anyway is was arranged the day before, the customer left me a key and gave me instructions of how to turn off the alarm and how to re set it. Fine, I thought while looking at the printed diagram of the alram box with the code written above. What she didnt mention was…….where this damn box was located! I could hear it beeping at me but could I find it? Soon panic set in and I must have appeared to look as though as I was ransacking the place anyway. Thankfully, although the alarm did go off, I found it hidden in a cuppboard and stopped it but as the house was in the middle of nowhere, No one came, no police nothing.

    Re: Broken transmission strap

    Luca,
If your Ariston is as bad as ours, then its more liekly that the drum bearings may have gone which may in turn have thrown the belt off. Either way, you maybe need to get a local engineer out to it.
If it is a front loader, then turn the drum by hand, it should feel smooth and turn freely, especially if the belt is off. If its a top loader, then shut the flaps and spin it by hand and the same should apply. If its noisy or “lumpy” when turned this way then its the bearings are gone and will not be cheap to repair.

    Re: hygena AHY8102 help?

That dishwasher uses a odd mechanical timer arrangement that needs to be carefully re set by an engineer (its not actually in the door, so dont go looking there). The heater re set is also well hidden.
