    Re: CBS

to sum up then, did finally get a credit from BT (but only after they had taken my direct debit for the inflated bill). I had to do the phoning myself to get this done, BT never called me back as they said they would so it took several calls and sitting at home instead of working to sort out. Steve at CBS just forwarded my emails to someone at BT but with no real response. No one has given me a reason for the inflated usage charges and it remains to be seen if my next quarter bill is back to normal levels or not.

the larger container looks far too close to the rear of the cabinet as well as too close to the worktop for comfort. If their goal is to cut delivery lorry emissions then making a machine that lasts longer would be time better spent.

have done a handful of these over the years with that fault, usually the pcb in the side. I have been able to replicate fault by tapping and slightly flexing the pcb case while its running. On off switch is just a low voltage stand by switch so unlikely to be the issue. You said you have checked the lead but I assume you realise this one plugs in at the rear so worth checking its not loose.

Anyone else found this happens after a year or so? do we need to renew?

would suggest motor tacho issue. Often only shows up when motor warmed like half way through a wash cycle.

is there not a little gauze filter thing in these pipes? Had a rusty evaporator tray once and all the rusted bits were sitting on this filter in the pipe blocking it. Had to remove pipe from back to clean out.

smeggy do da machine. Us smeg agents don’t know of any such mod….. although most don’t have a second dry sensor, some do- its in the rear (facing front) of the condenser.
common issue though but E4 is a wash temp ntc issue not the dryer.
If the dry one has tripped its a condenser out job and a good clean of the condenser and each little blade of the fan… easy job after your first 100 or so. Be careful though as there are a few hoses that can pop off the dispenser un noticed. Also check for fluff build up on the dry sensor at the front- easy to reach up from the door seal and remove fluff around it.
oh and the clean fluff programme? useless, does nothing. But if the reminder light is flashing its a good way to blame the customer for the issues.
