Re: CDA CI993 integrated washer/drier tripping rcd

from your post it seems you have not meggered the element also why not disconnect dryer element for a few days and see if it trip then

on the neg side i think this machine is obsolete so very few parts are available

    Dave

its also worth noting the following

an RCD trip measures earth leakage from a number of circuits and it the addition of the leakage that trips the unit if it goes above 30mA. so if your machine has a 20mA leakage and another appliance has 10mA then nothing will trip unless they are both on

sound a lot like a board power supply problem

check main pcb if power supply uses capacitor change it and see what happens. if its switch mode then its not that

    thats a bit steep

have you searched for an engineer on this site?

if you were near me and it was the power supply problem we would do the whole job under £60

next time get the customer to order part herself

of course this also means the customer has to pay again if part goes under warrenty as you have not supplied the part

sound to me like the power supply capacitor on the pcb has gone
you need to find an engineer who will change it to see if it cures it

    fairly straight forward
    fit 2 door brake 5031682991527
    and 1 or 2 levaer brake 5031682991312

you will need a peice if wire to stretch springs back into position

you dont say how you are switching it off but if its a double pole switch its possible for the neutral to break first and in that split second the whole cooker is fed live so if it has a small neutral to earth fault it will trip

    try megger it

its one of those suck and see faults
you have to find the line of water and where it had come from

take the kickstrip off if it has one put machiner up on a few bricks and using a mirror try to find the leak

Re: Help please AEG Lavatherm 56840L >Expensive/failed early

from what i beleive the level of proof needed is not as great if the appliance is under 2 years old

from the legal point of veiw most things legal are based on what the reasonable man/woman would expect and in this case you would expect the applaince to last longer than this

you could approach AEG and ask them how long they design their appliance to last under average condtions
