Moderatorthe lubricant does not keep it water tight the o ring does
wear in bearing stops pump starting but it wont leak
you need a new pump

Moderatorhave not got your model but the one i looked up says
“Typical for Timed drying (approximate)
5 minutes clockwise – Heating ON.
20 seconds anti-clockwise – Heating OFF.
For Automatic programmes the above sequence may be different”does not say what difference the automatic cycle makes to the reversing times

Moderatorprobably correct as they dont reverse as often these days but have no access to tech on all dryers

Moderatorwell the first thing to check is the power supply on the main pcb
there must be a low voltage supply constantly to the board to operate it
long shot have you checked door wires ?
its electrolux built have got tech if needed

Moderatorthis type of pump has a permanent magnet rotor. the rotor gets wet and the white stuff is lubricant. This allows the unit to operate with no water seals making leaks almost impossible
you state you have a leaking motor. is it the early motor that does not look like this
or
is it this motor and the small tube has gone causing a leaks. had lots of these tubes burstits very unlikely the motor in the utubke video has the leak

yes motor triac but have had same fault with motor earth faults so could be carbon dust

Moderatorif the resistors have gone. its normally only one low value one that acts as a fuse and to stop high currents. this feeds a chip often with 7 legs and that will be the cause of the problem
change the chip and the dud resistor and it could be okDave

a lot of machines wont start if brushes are not making contact
