ParticipantRe: ZX79/5SI fridge problems
😯 good call mkr
how long has it been where a customer has to tell US how much we should charge them for fitting a part?
i mean, the van, phone, car tax, fuel, insurance, advertising costs, vat, income tax, training, experience , etc cost nothing !!! not to mention the public liability insurance, which we have to have because the customer always seems to find a mark on the lino which ‘wasnt there before the engineer came’
yet its funny how kai managed to fix it, only havin been advised by others that it was the termistor (which , incidentally is NOT that easy to change, and there are other mitigating factors which will affect the working of the appliance)
i mean come on, he started by saying he was gonna buy a pcb, then asked where the screws were… then bangs on after he’d been advised by an expert as to how easy it was!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
honestly that post should be deleted or edited – it will cause offencesorry – had to have my say, i am, it has to be said, greatly insulted
grrrr

ParticipantRe: Belling G707 Gas Cooker – Only half the Grill works
thats a gas issue
unfortunately, members of this forum cannot and will not give out information regarding servicing and/or repair of gas appliances
only a corgi registered engineer are legally allowed to repair and service gas appliances
sorry, but your gonna have to call someone out
i apologise if that sounds abrupt, but the law is there to protect people from the possible consequences of gas escapehope this helps

ParticipantRe: Bosch Tumble Dryer WTL 5500 – just sits there!
if it is a condensor btw, and the dry light comes on , it could just be a sticky float switch.. however the fact it has an interior light suggests itll be one of the bosch models built like a tank, and i wouldnt advise u play with it
proffessional advice should be sought to be honest, but plug out if ur gonna play

i take it its a sensor type condenser dryer?

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint TDC 30N Condenser Dryer problem
hope u fitted the right stats
i always fit part number 1701583 on those, its a Little hotter than the red spot ones
neway, yes a fluff build up (normally in the condenser to be fair) would deffo cause that, it would also explain how the one shot thermostat tripped out
typical symptoms are hot clothes, but not drying because theyre not condensing, (it aint gettin rid of the moisture!)i know u say its clean and people do.. but have u held it upto the light and made sure u can see straight thru it?
other than that theres the duct stat which is located inside the door (on the duct funnily enuff)
much better dryer than those damn ctd00p things theyre making now, well worth a fix

ParticipantRe: hotpiont wf320

ParticipantRe: Candy CIC60 Clean Filter Light
finally,thank you
maybe i just didnt word my 1st post as well as my second 😳helo_75
ParticipantRe: Candy CIC60 Clean Filter Light
and i stand by my original comment
although it was deleted, i still say that the thermal fuse goes faulty because the cycling stat is faulty
its just better if you change the whole heater assembly, to be sure the fault is cured!
crimped connections dont always work well if your running a 2kw heater through them
anyway.. its imperative this machine is unplugged in any attempt of repair – the element stays live regardless of anything else.(i know, ve had the shock!)
hope this helps

ParticipantRe: Bosch Fridge/Freezer, Fridge 2 warm
please, try not to be so hasty
bosch are probably one of the best fridge freezers on the market.
5yrs seems to be average lifespan to be fair, although bosch tend to last longer
dont be dissapointed with bosch and buy hotpoint/indesit stuff!!!!
if you do, then youll know wot true disapointment is
sounds like a thermistor problem to be fair, well, its either that or the pcb as penguin advised
as always, its dificult to advise exactly over the forum, butin this case, it might well not be an over expensive repair, and proffssional advice would be called forhope this helps
