    Re: HOTPOINT 7830

I can count the number of stats I have changed on this model range on the fingers of one foot. 🙂

The chocolate biscuits advice on the door wiring is very sound. 😀

Quite a few parts for this machine are now listed as obsolete, including the early, relay start main motor.

The first thing I would check is the sump/pressure switch air bell housing, I have had something as small as £2 coin sized piece of paper covering the outlet from the sump to the pressure hose air chamber causing this fault.

‘If’ the plug was in the ‘wrong way round’ all that would happen is that you would get a live feed to the open switch side of the door lock, which would not therefore activate. No damage to the PCB would occur, always assuming that someone has not been playing around with the wiring in the first place. 😥

Its often possible to figure which goes where though…there will be a direct live from the on/off switch, a direct neutral for the lock supply (usually from the on/off switch), the third wire will feed the pcb et al, and the hotpoint locks are handily marked with the cicuit diagram on the moulding.

On WMA models all three connections come from the module, there is no diagram on the side of this much smaller interlock, as there is on a 1602390, not even the usual helpful. L/C/N terminal identification.

There is no on/off button on WMA40, only a start button. You do need a visit from an engineer.

Re: DOOR LOCKED indicator is flashing Hotpoint Aquarius WMA4

The modules cannot be repaired, but there are other reasons than the door lock that could cause them to fail. It is not really possible to go into any great detail within the limits of a forum. It would be unwise to go ahead and change a very expensive circuit board without determining the cause of failure. The board may not be faulty or you could damage the new board, modules can become very costly fuses.

It may be wise to look.
    here

Also, if your appliance is under 5 years old your parts are covered by manufacturers g/tee. you will only (only, sorry about that 😥 ) pay the £90 labour charge even if it transpires that a faulty motor has damaged the module.

Original door lock may have failed and damaged the control board/module. More than likely the cause of the circuit breaker tripping as well.

Several other possible causes for this as well.

It should not be possible to put the plug in the wrong way round unless you use a great deal of force or remove the locating lugs from the plug.
Would be interested to know why you thought it was the wrong way round and how you decided which wires you would short out to bypass it?

    Re: Indesit 5 years parts/ error 08

I have just spoken to them on the phone, it is a W103UK. He says they have green card that mentions 4 years extra parts but cannot see ‘Evolution’ anywhere on the machine.

    Thanks for your replies,

    Jim.

    Re: creda condenser dryer T601CW

There are two different heaters for this model. You will need the serial number, or at least the first two numbers of the serial number which is a date code. This will help us identify the correct part.

Serial number should be on a stick on label just inside the door, sometimes also on back of dryer.

It would depend on the exact model number (1100 is a spin speed) and your level of expertise, we will know about the first but not about the second, 😉

The Hotpoint twin tub spin switch is also sprung loaded, only 2 tag though.

    Re: Hotpoint BFI62 board initialization

All I can come up with on Partfinder is that BF162 is listed as 60cm integrated, not sure if that is any help.

Pardon my ignorance, what is a ‘vanishing dishwasher’ ❓

Had one of these that didn’t leak, it poured out of the corners. fitting a new seal etc didn’t prove satisfactory either.

Partfinder only shows complete drum for W103UK/B at £120 + vat. 😥
