Filling and then emptying is common pcb fault on these older hotpoints

Sounds like a pcb fault to me,only other thing to check is heater and stat/ntc on dryer

Is the float sticking had a few of these giving problems

Noisey pump they are common

The pictures you have posted and the area where you are saying its leaking i have to agree with dave I think there’s a crack in the stainless steel tub as if it was overfilling it would more likely leak from the flange where the door opens and closes

So how do you check that the diode has gone with a meter ?

There is a litres counter i think its the left hand side the valve doesn’t know how much water to fill with so this is done by either the litres counter or the pressure switch on dishwashers if for example it fills with 2 litres of water and thats the correct fill level the water stops at that point if the litres counter is faulty it could fill with 3 litres then switch off the water hence over filling hope this helps you

The dishwasher may well be overfilling by the sounds of it,have you checked that the spray arms are not split or blocked aswell

Maybe worth checking the heater for earth leakage as I know the hotpoint washers do this

Aswo stock a replacement for the pulley that has the bracket you can remove bracket and use pulley pulley part number is C00297219

I haven’t looked where the wires go to but they are thin wires and brake easy so personally I would check them all front panel off and check them 1 at the time
