ModeratorDave is right but these ovens don’t have thermostats they are mechanical devices the have ptc which are electronic way of measuring temperature to ge a accurate temperature of the oven needs to be set to 200 degrees and the temperature needs to be taken in the centre of the oven

ModeratorI just want to mention one thing about the models your looking at go with the zeolite model as you will have improved drying as regards cleaning as mentioned the heat pumps are the same on series 6 and series 8 so stick with the series 6 as the 8 you are paying more for as Don has said and make sure you set up the home connect on the appliance as it will do automatic updates

ModeratorThis could be programmed in to the software on machine like on the hoover washing machines weighing the load and determine the load rinses etc as if the machine is finishing the programme I don’t think this is a issue

ModeratorThe hotpoint is a very old reliable machine that is easy to work on but bear in mind that you are try to do somethings on that machine that its not designed for 30 degree wash and altering the water flow will affect the wash times and I would be surprised of it starting to rust at that age
The bosch is one of the best built machines of the wae range they made bear in mind that the parts will be more expensive every year on these machines and yes you can change bearings but they are not as easy to do as the hotpoint.
If I had the choice I’d go with the boschkaibart
ModeratorWell from what you are explaining it sound like the heat pump needs replacing the check water light flashes to indicate any fault on the machine
