Is it, or was it before you moved it, syphoning?
If not that, EMW may do these modules, not sure. Would make sense to run diagnostics. PDF should be on Connect mediator.

E54 Description: Motor relay contacts sticking. Possible fault: PCB faulty; current leakage from motor or from wiring. Action/machine status: Cycle blocked, door locked (after 5
    attempts)
That’s from PDF I downloaded earlier today for a ZWF1432 but I’m sure it’s the same reasoning.

If that’s the old banger I think it is they’ll be wanting a fortune for the board. You may find you can repair the old board; I know I did one a few years ago. Fiddly job but possible.

Re: Split Bosch tacho magnet. Motor p/n 142122

    To wrap this one up.
Missed the auction but sent seller a note and he agreed readily to my offer of a fiver and I arranged the courier.
Motor arrived a couple of days later half hanging out of a shoe box with the lid taped on with four 4″ lengths of parcel tape :rolls: .
Anyway, went back yesterday and completed the job, motor turned out to be 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} the same as the original and fitted and functioned perfectly.
So no fun with the angle grinder but a very happy customer and one less to the scrapper.
Thanks again for your help Dave. Looking forward to the next one that turns up.

Ah yes, the social climbers with lofty ambitions living in tower blocks?
Of course many of the blocks have been pulled down long since and it would seem that we now only have a hired purchase on our very island(s) to some anonymous bankers.
So nothing much changes, only the flies, and the word order.
Yes, those people now just purchase Haier. 😛

😕 How can power be supplied to it without it heating? Presumably you have checked that it is reading 30 ohms or so across the disconnected terminals (or it might be 25 or I don’t know, something like that). If it’s reading much higher ohms than that, (anything above 40 really) then it’s a straightforward case of duff element with the internal heating wire intermittently making contact with the element sheath.
I don’t think it would be enough to only disconnect the live terminal when testing like that as a leakage to earth can still happen via the neutral.
Other than that don’t forget to check the board for burning around heater relay and if you find anything check if it’s on the re-call model list.

:hmm: And I was thinking of taking a thermistor with me. OK, I’ll give them a ring tomorrow and tell them it’ll be a few days. If you’re wrong though you better watch out 😆 .
    Cheers Bob.

Thanks Dave. Customer doesn’t mind waiting a week or so. I’ve got a couple of lines out on second hand ones; just waiting for a bite. Then I might get the satisfaction of finding out whether I’m skilled enough to do the magnet transfer if I get one that doesn’t fit right away. 😉 .

Uhmm. Sounds like lots of fun. Any idea if the magnets vary much; I don’t suppose they’re all the same size ❓

    Re: Hoover hnc180-80

Just searched for HNC180 and this thread came up so I thought I would try here first.
Bloke has just rung up saying he has a HNC180 and has found what sounds to me like a felt front bearing in the drum.
He says it’s a condenser type with the collector in the base so presumably not pumped.
    So I found Helo’s comment

unlike the ctd, which are rubbish, but are easy to work on

    encouraging.
Apparently it hasn’t needed emptying half as frequently recently.
Any ideas, not involving skips, please?

I’ve never given any wholesaler much business but the prices they give me don’t seem to be adversely affected by that, except that some will flog it to ebay customers cheaper. In which case I become an ebay customer. Sorted!

You need to know that it’s a FAV445i (Favourit.) in order to ditinguish it from the 3000 odd other models.
Connect have a pattern pump in stock for £20. It is listed as fitting the following models also, though this will by no stretch of the imagination be a complete fit list.

Pulleys look like they might be quite different.
