Good tip, Neil. Had the domain name registered for about three years and done nothing about it. Perhaps I’d better get on with it.
One question though. What is the size of the population of the complete area that you cover? (Then I can divide that by the population I cover and get myself a ball park figure for how many extra jobs I might expect if I make my website as good as yours!)
Edit: Doh, stupid question! All the info’s on your website! 😳

After reading that tale on your blog, Andy, about the Miele filter, I relayed the tale to a customer because I wanted to discourage her from choosing Miele when it was not really appropriate to her situation. (I’m not a habitual reader of your blog so it must have been an idle moment when I managed to deviate from my UKWG addiction.)
So, I too would like to know the truth about this.

Same story down here in the extreme south west. Not that I’m all that bothered. More to life than working.

For example are they impossible to get out ….?No. Quite easy. The difficult bit is getting the bearing cross out and back in again. And you need to be careful not to damage the new bearings when inserting them. You’d do well to get some help on that if you’ve never done anything like it. Maybe the Haynes washing machine manual or some searching online about fitting bearings in general. Make sure the drum shaft is undamaged before you invest in the new bearings. Especially the brass ring on which the water seal runs.

If it’s really wet,
Fan heater, low heat setting. Couple of feet away from front of machine. Lean machine back a bit so air goes underneath. Lid off to encourage upward air flow through machine. Leave it going as long as necessary. Spin motor once or twice during process by turning drum.iadom wrote:I’m in the hairdryer camp. 8)

Go to http://www.bosch.co.uk . From there you can navigate to the “eshop” for spare parts info for any model you like. It takes a bit of time to figure out the navigation but you get exploded diagrams for all machines and you should be able to work out if parts are the same.
Actually, I just had a look and the right cross for your WVT is 283726.
Check this, as I only did a quick search. BS05109 in shop@

That is a frightening story. Thanks for the warning. Hope you have some kind of legal redress. Best wishes.

Why bother with the angle grinder? Just tell the customer to use it as is for another week and the shaft will be sawn off just nice. 😆

No this is not normal at all!. Paranormal I would say. Did you see the way that soap drawer seemed to open itself 😯 ? The dark, silent atmosphere. The slow, creeping shots. All add to the suspense. Spielberg will be shaking in his shoes. Why are you fixing washing machines?

What?? Is that some kind of cost cutting measure?

ParticipantRe: zanussi with hole in rear tub with pics
Not easy, no. Is that the heater element visible through the hole? If so, does the element extend to where the thermistor is? If it does, then that grommet has been able to survive there. Maybe you could get a similar grommet and stat off the scrapper, cut a hole of the right size with a hole cutter, with element out of the way and make sure you get a nice fit. Have to make sure the other melted areas haven’t thinned the plastic or distorted the drum.
Alternatively, someone in a previous thread said he gets good results with a portasol gas powered soldering iron. You could have a go with that. I’m intending to get one for myself.
I know you’ve already arranged another solution but there might come a time when you’ll really want to fix a drum this way.
BTW, don’t forget to figure out why it happened before you fit the new tub. You don’t want to find out after that you also need a new board.
