Nearest model on Connect is DI453 which is apparently a Smeg :?. Wash motor for that is 695210502. Good pictures on Connect.

I haven’t listened a second time yet but first time I didn’t hear any mention from presenter of who UKW are and what they’re about. 🙁

The seller states in the description that they have other parts available and to call a mobile no. The reason I said it looks strange is because they list same item three times in a row.

“overheating the laundry” = burning smell? How familiar is customer with machine? Have you seen fault for yourself?
Would suggest you check that air circulation is good, no blocked filters, no blocked outlet, no charred fluff near heater element etc. Replace stat kit to be on the safe side, check it then operates OK and advise customer to use with caution and to contact you if any hint of further problem.

Check feedback carefully. This one looks a bit strange. But he/she does give a mobile number. Could be worth a chat.

Think your £160 offer is perfectly fair. I’d let her stew on it for a week. Legally she hasn’t got a leg. She won’t get better service elsewhere and it’s not in her interest to financially damage a business which is serving her well. If she thinks that she can push you around, then you’re better off without her.

Think this is worth inclusion here. Relating to a Hpt WD420 with odd flashing lights but no doubt would apply to many models,

I didn’t believe it but the tip came from a current Hotpoint/Indesit engineer & it’s worked twice for me. It makes the board forget all its troubles & reset.

    Great job Ken!
You had to struggle through listening to that boring old stuff from the callers about their old fridges and microwaves plus the distraction of the scarcely intelligible university woman and the sports and traffic news yet you managed to get in some solid points in a very calm, confident and measured way. Respect!
There were one or two helpful callers such as the guy who brought up MTBF. That helped me as a listener to get through the blah blah about “my old fridge” etc. and actually gain some insights from the programme. Dunno if they’re doing a podcast but I’ll be recording it to tape if not.

    Well, hot news just in!
Currys came to deliver her new machine today but were unable to install due to being unable to turn off the water due to tap broken. I assume this to mean the blue plastic knob has broken off. So she’s asked me round to do the job. I couldn’t resist asking her how much she got and she was kind enough to provide that information. So my curiosity has been satisfied at last. She got vouchers to the value of £120 !!! Since the 23 month “old” machine had originally cost her £219 she really hasn’t come off too bad at all! My opinion of Currys Limited may have to be revised. When I go round on Friday morning I shall be tempted to gently probe for more detail on what pressure she brought to bear on them.
I wonder how many small independent retailers would be able to swallow a pill that size? :stir: .
