Are you asking a question or just making a statement? 😕

If you’re asking, try using one of these ????????????? 😉

I would imagine the burnt out fan motor has taken its control swith out.

That model number is one likely to be included in Hotpoint’s safety recall. Have you checked to see if it is affected?

Only by checking the full PNC number on the Elux site (TDS etc). Then the product year is the first 4 digits, the month the next 2 digits.

Re: Bosch WAQ283S1GB cutting out mid cycle

It is indicative of a mains supply failure so I suspect the plugtop connections are at fault (arcing maybe?) or that the wall socket itself is at fault.

Check those out firt and if still OK then call Bosch and get them to check it out. Do not mess with the appliance itself as you could invalidate the guarantee.

Not a clue but the user manual states:

Er + number = Electronic fault

Doesn’t help you any more I know. (I’m still trying to figure out : E=mc2)

It is the fibrous material deposits from food. That rather extreme example proves the owner has lots of fibre in their diet.

Is this just a washing machine or washer dryer? If the latter did that item go through a dry cycle also?

You can never be sure until you replace the PTC sensor. At just £23 its worth a try all the while informing your customer of the worst case scenario if that is not the cure.

….again looking at PaulG’s photo the foam backplate seal has burnt away. So maybe it’s the non-fire resistant foam that catches light first?

Does anyone on here know the true sequence of events that causes these machines to go up in flames? Is the pop rivet the cure all? What is so different about the back panel that it has to be replaced? Is the new foam seal flame resistant?

The impeller gets clapped out (don’t we all) and is less reliable. Even on those occasions where it doesn’t leak it almost certainly will fill with an inconsistent amount of water.

The circulating pump (aka wash pump) is the large pump, front right hand side.

What is so unique about the new backplates and that all important pop rivet that would eliminate the type of instance shown in PaulG’s photo?
