Re: AEG fault code CE ?

The number I know to be for that PNC is 8996454307993 🙂

Easy to fit, the fascia panel needs removing first then it’s downhill all the way!

    Acme,

It usually means a fault with the Water Inlet Valve or the Electronic Module 🙁

    Dave,

Obviously you have read my post in the trade Spares forum by now on this? I could add an interesting poll to it if you like?

    Davy,

I thought we had this conversation yesterday regarding this and that I recommended a local engineer to sort it for you. The brushes are available via spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk (just supply the details i.e part number you require) Cost for someone to fit for you ? (around £30 ish)

The guarantee only covers parts so I would suggest a local independent check it out for you (cheaper that way)

We appreciate it isn’t the same but the principle is on those makes that allow full removal of the main oven door!

Are you saying that the door is broken? or has it simply got un-hooked from its removable fixing?

A regular Askoll pump fits it unless you need the filter body as well in which case the genuine number is the only alternative 🙁

Re: Amusing Anecdotes & Other Tales

How many customers do you meet in the course of your business that can only be described as (to put it mildly) ……”off their trolley!”

Like the lady that asked me to please call back later as she had just put the machine on a wash and it would take over an hour to finish. When I insisted I be allowed to step in and fix whatever was wrong with it there and then I discovered she was just washing four ‘J Cloths’ 😕

……or the lady that hid behind her husband to tell me what was wrong with her dishwasher but would only talk through her husband and not directly at me. Resulting in a conversation that was repeated too and fro with me adding that I did actually hear what his wife reply was. It was bizaar when for example I asked “Did the light come on when you pressed the button?” for her husband to repeat that to his wife. (and no she wasn’t deaf, dumb or blind…just friggin’ crackers if you ask me 🙁

I think they must be breeding like rabbits in my area ‘cos I met another today…..a classic crackpot in no uncertain terms………

She answered the door with her pet pooch in her arms and ushered me to a Whirlpool dryer supposedly not working at all. I turned it on and away it went…..”What’s the problem with it then?” I asked…”It doesn’t do what it is supposed to do!” she replied, “I put my washing in it with the powder and it comes out just the same?”….

    …”But it’s a TUMBLE DRYER!!!!”….I replied ❓

The complete Timer Assembly(including Drive Motor) is Part No 086453 @ £109.28 and the Timer Drive Motor is Part No 140472 @ £29.73. available via the link I gave earlier…OR….

Beyond that you can get the Timer reconditioned/repaired (via this link) http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … ink&cid=34

Look under EMW or Quality Electronic Repairs 😉

    Re: ariston Lsi 61

You see, often these days these integrated circuit controlled machines ‘self check’ all the machines components without you realising it. 😯

When they find something like the element being stuffed, they do not play ball and make it worse for the poor soul who’s trying to sort it by either not firing-up or giving some spurious error code that bears no relation to the actual fault at all 😕

Check all the obvious things first before assuming the module is duff and let panic always be your last option 8)
