Can you check to make sure the ‘Speedperfect’ option button is not lit?

Detergents chemicals can easily filter into the resin ion exchanger unit, clog the resin crystals and render the whole softening unit useless.

You’ll need to first establish the make of motor as there are 3 types fitted. Best you take the brushes out first and compare. Or if you have a local repair shop, take a brush unit in for a like for like replacement. 💡

Why go to the bother of fitting a heater when there was nothing wrong with it?

NTC seems OK but wouldn’t give you a no heat fault anyway. More likely is a PCB issue or the wiring harness broken?

Most likely the motor brushes are worn out.

Dunno about within spec but clearly the NTC resistance varies as the temp varies. As a new one is relatively inexpensive I would advise replacing it anyway.

    A heat gun?

It is 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} Bosch made by the way. Not Crossley.

Its an NTC that it’s readings are in Kohms. Heat in one direction is normal.
